As a result of a demining accident on [the Victim], the deminer of [National demining agency], MCT-17 at 09:35 Hrs, February 06, 2007 in task # AF/2002/17610/MF0337, located at Qala-e-Shater village, Injeel district of Herat province, investigation team was convened by UNAMAC Hirat to conduct the investigation and find out the main causes of mentioned accident.

A mine blast incident occurred at approximately 07:27hrs on Monday 05/02/2007 in the lane No-2 in the minefield 71390013. The deminer detonated a No-10 Israeli anti personnel blast mine due to hacking. At the time of the incident the deminer was wearing the PPE (Body vest and Goggles). The deminer clearing the mine belt hit the mine on the top by heavy rake resulted in a mine blast. The deminer sustained THREE MINOR INJURIES IN UPPER LIP AND LEFT CHEEK/CHIN.

EMAO (Ethiopian Mine Action Office) is a large demining organisation, with growing capabilities, that has performed increasingly well since its establishment. Its demining operations have made a substantial contribution to the resettlement and rehabilitation efforts in the war-affected districts (woredas) of Tigray and Afar, delivering significant socio-economic benefits for those regions and promoting Ethiopia's post-war recovery. NPA assistance is well targeted and relevant to EMAO's existing and future needs. While NPA has experienced some start-up problems, it has been able to manage these to control slippage. Jefferson Village is an incorporated municipality in Northeastern Ohio, with a population in 2000 of about 4000 residents. Originally founded in 1803 and incorporated in 1836, the Village has been the county seat for Ashtabula County since 1807. This study uses several indicators to measure the strengths and weaknesses of the high-tech sector in Northeast Ohio (NEO) in comparison to the U.S. High-tech industries are analyzed in terms of employment, average wage, gross regional product (output), and productivity. High-tech occupations are analyzed in terms of employment. Research and development activity is analyzed by examining trends in industry R&D funding and academic R&D expenditures.

During the Democratic Kampuchea regime (1975-79), all cadastral records were destroyed. This disrupted continuity of land titling and caused many uncertainties. Currently there are a range of laws relating to land ownership that must be considered in the context of allocating demined land to beneficiaries. This paper reviews the economic policy since the handover. Evidence is presented and the case is argued that the serious recession and fiscal problems in 1998 were essentially a result of misguided housing policy. Hong Kong’s subsequent recovery and return to fiscal health, too, were essentially a result of a bold effort to reverse that misguided policy in late 2002. The paper commends the SAR government for its pragmatism and courage in the “incursion” in the stock market in the summer of 1998. Marketing The Chinese Dream Home: Gated Communities And Representations Of The Good Life In (Post-)Socialist Shanghai, Choon-Piew Pow, Lily Kong

This paper examines the advertising themes and rhetoric that have been assembled in the place-marketing of Shanghai's newly built gated communities. We demonstrate how place-marketing strategies, in this case selling the Chinese dream home, draws upon specific landscape meanings and values that are embedded in Chinese/ Shanghainese history, even as symbolic and cultural capital from the contemporary scene also exert their influences. Collectively, these representations of the good life both reflect and reinforce the exclusivist housing aspirations and privatist visions of middle-class residents of gated communities in contemporary Shanghai. Using a power transition perspective, this presentation analyzes the regional and global implications of different enlargement formulations of the European Union (EU) during the first half of the 21st century. First, it assesses the consequences of expanded EU membership with varying enlargement scenarios on global power distributions and considers the EU's position in the new world order. Next, it examines EU's external economic and security relations and considers how they might be affected by future enlargement of the Union.

The 26th of January 2007, approx 12.25 (local time SL), the HQ in Jaffna was called up by the Team leader of Team 5, working in a heavy dense (P4s) minefield, LK-23B.The message he gave was that one of his deminers had set one mine of in his lane while conducting mine clearance. The mentioned deminer was taken out of work for the rest of the day. The minefield consists of rocky ground with both loose rock and solid/fixed rock.

On the day of the accident the team consisted of 10 members: Site Supervisor, Team Leader, 6 x searchers, medic and driver. [The Victim]. acting Team Leader, was supervising three searchers in the area of Box C3, [Names removed] who were conducting visual search of the area. [Name removed] was standing in the visually cleared area to the rear of the searchers supervising the surface search operations. At approximately 1008hrs, an uncontrolled explosion occurred in box C3, involving [the Victim]. At the time of the accident all team members were wearing PPE (jacket and visor).

While some workers' needs for lexibility can be addressed by short Term Time Off (STO) or by a Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA), there are other workers who need time off on a more episodic basis. These workers may have an illness, such as cancer of kidney disease, which requires them to attend numerous medical appointments on a relatively set basis. Or they may have a chronic conditions, such as migraine headaches or fibromyalgia, that flares up sporadically.
