Understanding factors that contribute to the quality of life (QoL) of primary caregivers of young autistic children can help researchers and clinicians provide high-quality support to caregivers and families. This study examined whether family demographic factors, parenting stress, and caregivers’ perceptions of family-centered healthcare experiences uniquely predict caregivers’ QoL. Participants were caregivers of toddlers with: features of autism (n = 119), other developmental delays (n = 101), and no developmental concerns (n = 264). The mental health of physicians is a pressing issue that has received increasing attention in recent years. The alarmingly high suicide rates for physicians underscores the critical need to address the mental health challenges that doctors face. Physicians are exposed to stressors that are unique to their profession, including high-stakes decision making, long work hours, traumatic patient situations, and the emotional toll of patient care. These challenges contribute to high rates of anxiety, depression, burnout, and other mental health issues. Despite the well-documented prevalence of homelessness, past research primarily focused on post-emancipation housing experiences, often overlooking housing instability, including affordability, availability, and quality. The purpose of the study was to understand youth transitioning from foster care, focusing on housing instability while transitioning to independent living. This qualitative study used generic qualitative inquiry grounded in cumulative disadvantage theory. Mindful parenting benefits both parents and children; however, Indonesia lacks a valid and reliable tool for it. This study aims to develop a mindful parenting scale (MPS) as an effective tool for parents of children aged 3–6 years. The MPS is a multidimensional scale comprising five dimensions based on the theories of previous researchers (Kabat-Zinn and Kabat-Zinn and Duncan et al.). The study involved 326 participants with marriage durations of 2–32 years (M = 8.4, SD = 4.53). The results demonstrate that the final version of the MPS exhibits high internal consistency for the total score and each dimension. …

Bilateral bargaining theory developed by mathematician and Nobel Laureate John Nash predicts that when both parties have full information, a deal is quickly reached without a strike. Such a situation represents ideal conditions, which the real world does not match. However, Nash Bargaining presents a useful baseline for bargaining teams. ADHD, a neurodevelopmental disorder affecting both children and adults, is traditionally diagnosed through behavioral assessments, which may lack objectivity. Recent studies suggest that eye-tracking, specifically focusing on saccades, fixations, and blink rates, offers the potential for more accurate and objective measures of ADHD. This transcendental phenomenological study delves into the lived experiences of 10 women who experienced sex trafficking. Through in-depth individual interviews, participants unveiled a narrative marked by coercion, manipulation, and multifaceted abuse. Despite variations in the duration and onset of their ordeals, participants uniformly expressed the profound and lasting impact of sex trafficking across numerous facets of their lives. Psychological distress, physical ailments, disrupted vocational trajectories, strained relationships, and spiritual upheaval were recurrent themes, illustrating the pervasive nature of their trauma. Over 1,000 lives have been lost in school shootings in the United States. Many school shooters are current or former students ages 12 to 18, predisposed to risk factors (e.g., mental illness, bullying, trauma). Emerging evidence suggests that distinct stages of reward processing uniquely contribute to psychological traits linked to anhedonia, a core mood-disorder symptom characterized by diminished enjoyment of pleasure. However, the relationship between reward-processing stages and dispositional traits related to mood and anhedonia remains unclear. The present study investigated interindividual reward processing differences in a healthy college sample (n = 83) using self-report measures and event-related brain potentials (ERPs) indexing anticipatory and consummatory subprocesses across high- and low-effort conditions using a recently developed effort-doors task. This study piloted a culturally relevant, integrative DBT-Art intervention via telehealth with two Black women using a single-case research design. Findings showed increased mindfulness, self-compassion, and emotion regulation. This study explores acculturative stress (AS), coping strategies (CS), and mental health in Arab immigrants (N=68). Results show that avoidant-CS are linked to depression and anxiety, while problem-focused-CS are protective. Age correlated with CS and mental health outcomes.
