The majority of First Officers and Captains feel that Captains establish the tone of the flight deck microculture. However, the majority of these pilots also report that as First Officers, they have hesitated to share safety-pertinent data and/or experience being silenced after sharing safety data due to a psychologically unsafe flight deck. Utilizing direct feedback from industry pilots, we explore ways that Captains can create a more inclusive microculture that elicits safety voice. Objective

This research investigates and compares working-conditions, duty rosters, stress, sleep problems, fatigue levels, mental health, and well-being of pilots working for network (NWCs), and low-cost carriers (LCCs). This study extends previous research by investigating working conditions, pilots’ actual rosters, fatigue and mental health of two groups of pilots flying for LCC or NWC.

Method

A comprehensive cross-sectional online survey was completed by N=338 pilots (185 NWC, 153 LCC pilots). Recent studies have shown that social media has increasingly become a platform for users to express suicidal thoughts outside traditional clinical settings. With advances in Natural Language Processing strategies, it is now possible to design automated systems to assess suicide risk. However, such systems may generate uncertain predictions, leading to severe consequences. We hence reformulate suicide risk assessment as a selective prioritized prediction problem over the Columbia Suicide Severity Risk Scale (C-SSRS). We propose SASI, a risk-averse and self-aware transformer-based hierarchical attention classifier, augmented to refrain from making uncertain predictions. Ambivalent sexism – divided into the categories of benevolent sexism (BS) and hostile sexism (HS) – is imbedded in many parts of the workplace. This study aims to explore if ambivalent sexism influences hiring decisions and, if so, what can be done about it. After completing a series of surveys, participants were asked to read about an agentic female candidate who applied for a male-dominated position. Afterwards, participants went through either a factual or emotional intervention before reevaluating their decision. That is, the aim of this study was to show that integrative complexity and OMC are conceptually distinct constructs. The current study explores whether stereotype threat, or fear of confirming negativestereotypes about one’s in-group, might manifest in the criminal justice system. This study specifically asks whether the threat of confirming stereotypes connecting race and crime manifest, among Black defendants, in nonverbal behaviors that might be perceived by observers as guilt. It will also examine if the Covid-19 pandemic has exacerbated this relationship. The present study characterized somatic symptoms and their relations with psychological, pain sensitivity, and parental factors in a community sample of premenarchal adolescents, which marks an initial step in advancing the identification of potential modifiable factors related to menstrual pain and chronic pain development. Earlier research revealed that cocaine users display impairments in emotional but not necessarily in cognitive empathy. However, no study to date has tested whether empathy is generally altered or whether impairments are restricted to specific social targets. The current investigation addresses this open question. In addition, we examined whether attributions of warmth and competence as well as personal future expectancies differed between cocaine users and substance-naïve controls. Xiphodynia is a rare but debilitating condition that can be described as a form of pain on the xiphisternal joint or any related structures that are anchored to the xiphoid process. Higher total fruit and vegetable (FV) intakes have been associated with lower perceived stress. The relationship between specific types of FV and perceived stress remains uncertain. The aims of this cross-sectional study were to explore the relationship between consumption of specific types of FV with perceived stress in a population-based cohort of men and women aged ≥ 25 years from the Australian Diabetes, Obesity and Lifestyle (AusDiab) Study.

In this context, informed by the constructivist philosophical perspective, this article reports on the pre-service teachers’ voices regarding the prevalence, impacts and counteractive strategies of social loafing. The pre-service teachers are drawn from one higher education institution in Tanzania that serves as a case study. The aim of this study was to explore gender differences in motivation for choosing teaching as a profession and perceptions of men’s demotivation for the choice of this profession. 279 preservice subject teachers from the University of Zagreb, Croatia, filled in the FIT-Choice Scale (Watt & Richardson, 2007) and the Demotivation of Men for Teaching Career Choice Scale. Mental healthcare professionals often have limited awareness of different obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) symptom presentations, which may contribute to years between OCD symptom onset and treatment initiation. While research has identified high rates of OCD misdiagnosis among clinicians from the United States and Canada, research on OCD symptom awareness among healthcare providers in Latin American (LATAM) regions is limited. การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาปัจจัยที่สัมพันธ์กับความคิดว่าตนเองด้อยความสามารถของนักศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรี ได้แก่ เพศสภาพ การตั้งเป้าหมายเชิงสัมฤทธิ์แบบมุ่งเน้นความเชี่ยวชาญ การตั้งเป้าหมายเชิงสัมฤทธิ์แบบหลีกเลี่ยงความไม่เชี่ยวชาญ การตั้งเป้าหมายเชิงสัมฤทธิ์แบบมุ่งเน้นการแสดงความสามารถ การตั้งเป้าหมายเชิงสัมฤทธิ์แบบหลีกเลี่ยงการแสดงความด้อยความสามารถ การอบรมเลี้ยงดูของบิดามารดาแบบห่วงใย การอบรมเลี้ยงดูของบิดามารดาแบบปกป้องมากเกินไป การรับรู้คุณค่าในตนเอง การรับรู้ความสามารถของตนเอง และลักษณะบุคลิกภาพแบบต้องการความสมบูรณ์แบบ โดยมีสมมติฐานการวิจัยว่าปัจจัยที่สัมพันธ์ทั้งหมดดังกล่าวสามารถร่วมกันทำนายความคิดว่าตนเองด้อยความสามารถของนักศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรีได้ การวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงสหสัมพันธ์ เก็บข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสอบถามเป็นเครื่องมือในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ นักศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรีที่กำลังศึกษาอยู่ในมหาวิทยาลัยของรัฐ 5 อันดับแรกของประเทศไทย ทุกชั้นปี อายุตั้งแต่ 18-25 ปี ที่สามารถอ่านทำความเข้าใจภาษาไทยได้ จำนวน 309 คน วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยสถิติเชิงพรรณนา โดยใช้ความถี่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยสถิติเชิงอนุมาน โดยใช้ค่าสหสัมพันธ์เพียร์สัน และการวิเคราะห์ถดถอยเชิงพหุคูณแบบนำตัวแปรเข้าทุกตัวแปร ผลการวิเคราะห์ถดถอยเชิงพหุคูณพบว่าตัวแปรทำนายทั้งหมดสามารถร่วมกันทำนายความคิดว่าตนเองด้อยความสามารถของนักศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรีได้ร้อยละ 41.60 โดยคะแนนลักษณะบุคลิกภาพแบบต้องการความสมบูรณ์แบบสามารถทำนายได้มากที่สุด (β = .493, p < .01) รองลงมาคือ การรับรู้คุณค่าในตนเอง (β = -.195, p < .01) และการรับรู้ความสามารถของตนเอง (β = -.161, p < .01) ตามลำดับ ผลการวิจัยแสดงให้เห็นว่า แม้นักศึกษาที่นับว่าเรียนเก่งจนสามารถผ่านการคัดเลือกเข้าเรียนในมหาวิทยาลัยชั้นนำของรัฐ ก็มีแนวโน้มที่จะเกิดความคิดว่าตนเองด้อยความสามารถได้มาก เนื่องจากมีลักษณะบุคลิกภาพแบบต้องการความสมบูรณ์แบบสูง มีการรับรู้คุณค่าในตนเองต่ำ และมีการรับรู้ความสามารถของตนเองต่ำ

งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ ศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ของการกำหนดตนเอง (Self-determination) โดยประกอบด้วย 3 ด้าน คือ ความต้องการความสามารถ (Competence) ความต้องการมีอิสระ (Autonomy) และความต้องการความสัมพันธ์ในสังคม (Relatedness) รวมถึงการคลั่งไคล้ศิลปิน (Celebrity worship) ที่อาจร่วมกันอธิบายการฟื้นคืนพลัง (Resilience) ในกลุ่มผู้ชื่นชอบศิลปินวัยผู้ใหญ่วัยเริ่ม อายุ 18-29 ปี จำนวน 134 คน จากการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลพบว่า การกำหนดตนเองด้านความต้องการ 3 ด้าน (ความสามารถ การมีอิสระ และความสัมพันธ์ในสังคม) และการคลั่งไคล้ศิลปิน ร่วมกันอธิบายการฟื้นคืนพลัง (Resilience) ได้ร้อยละ 20.1 โดยการกำหนดตนเองด้านความต้องการความสามารถอธิบายการฟื้นคืนพลังได้อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ ดังนั้น ในการส่งเสริมการฟื้นคืนพลังในผู้ใหญ่วัยเริ่ม อาจเน้นเสริมทักษะความสามารถที่จำเป็นต่อการทำตามเป้าหมายของบุคคล กระบวนการพัฒนาทักษะอาจช่วยเพิ่มความสามารถในการฟื้นคืนพลังข้ามผ่านอุปสรรคไปสู่เป้าหมายได้ แม้ว่าความต้องการความสัมพันธ์และด้านความต้องการมีอิสระรวมถึงการคลั่งไคล้ศิลปินจะไม่สามารถอธิบายการฟื้นคืนพลังได้ แต่หากส่งเสริมทางด้านความสัมพันธ์ที่ดีกับผู้อื่น การมีอิสระในทางเลือกของตนเพิ่มขึ้น และสนับสนุนการติดตามศิลปินอย่างเหมาะสม เพื่อเป็นกำลังใจในการข้ามผ่านอุปสรรคร่วมด้วย ก็อาจจะช่วยส่งเสริมการฟื้นคืนพลังของผู้ใหญ่วัยเริ่มที่ชื่นชอบศิลปินได้

การวิจัยครั้งนื้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ (1) ศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างการรับรู้การสนับสนุนทางสังคมและสุขภาวะทางใจในผู้ป่วยโรคมะเร็งสูงอายุและญาติผู้ดูแล โดยมีการรับรู้ประสบการณ์เชิงบวกเป็นตัวแปรส่งผ่าน (2) ศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างการรับรู้การสนับสนุนทางสังคมและการรับรู้ประสบการณ์เชิงบวกที่มีต่อสุขภาวะทางใจของผู้ป่วยโรคมะเร็งสูงอายุและญาติผู้ดูแลผู้ป่วยในเชิงทวิสัมพันธ์ กลุ่มตัวอย่าง ได้แก่ ผู้ป่วยโรคมะเร็งสูงอายุและญาติผู้ดูแล 120 คู่ เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ มาตรวัดการรับรู้การสนับสนุนทางสังคม มาตรวัดการรับรู้ประสบการณ์เชิงบวก และ มาตรวัดสุขภาวะทางใจ ซึ่งมีค่าความเที่ยงอยู่ระหว่าง 0.82 ถึง 0.92 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยโมเดลสมการโครงสร้างด้วยโปรแกรม LISREL 10.2 ผลการวิจัย พบว่า (1) การรับรู้การสนับสนุนทางสังคม มีอิทธิพลต่อสุขภาวะทางใจของผู้ป่วยโรคมะเร็งสูงอายุ โดยมีการรับรู้ประสบการณ์เชิงบวกเป็นตัวแปรส่งผ่านแบบสมบูรณ์ (2) การรับรู้การสนับสนุนทางสังคม มีอิทธิพลต่อสุขภาวะทางใจของญาติผู้ดูแลผู้ป่วยโรคมะเร็งสูงอายุ โดยมีการรับรู้ประสบการณ์เชิงบวกเป็นตัวแปรส่งผ่านแบบบางส่วน (3) การรับรู้การสนับสนุนทางสังคมส่งผลต่อสุขภาวะทางใจของผู้ป่วยโรคมะเร็งสูงอายุและญาติผู้ดูแลในทางตรงเท่านั้น (only actor effect) โดยส่งผลต่อญาติผู้ดูแลได้มากกว่าผู้ป่วย และการรับรู้การสนับสนุนทางสังคมของทั้งคู่ ไม่มีผลต่อระดับสุขภาวะทางใจของอีกฝ่าย นอกจากนี้ ยังพบว่าการรับรู้การสนับสนุนทางสังคมของทั้งสองฝ่ายมีแนวโน้มที่จะเป็นไปในแนวทางเดียวกันมากกว่าสุขภาวะทางใจ และ (4) การรับรู้ประสบการณ์เชิงบวกส่งผลต่อสุขภาวะทางใจของผู้ป่วยโรคมะเร็งสูงอายุและญาติผู้ดูแลในลักษณะอิทธิพลคู่เหมือน (couple pattern) โดยส่งผลทางตรงต่อญาติผู้ดูแลได้มากกว่าผู้ป่วยเล็กน้อย และมีเพียงการรับรู้ประสบการณ์เชิงบวกของญาติผู้ดูแลเท่านั้นที่ส่งผลทางไขว้ต่อสุขภาวะทางใจของผู้ป่วย นอกจากนี้ ยังพบว่าการรับรู้ประสบการณ์เชิงบวกของทั้งสองฝ่ายมีแนวโน้มที่จะเป็นไปในแนวทางเดียวกันมากกว่าสุขภาวะทางใจด้วย

งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างการล้อเลียนจากพ่อแม่และการไม่พึงพอใจในรูปลักษณ์ของวัยรุ่นชายและหญิงตอนต้น รวมไปถึงศึกษาอิทธิพลกำกับของความอบอุ่นทางอารมณ์จากพ่อแม่ที่มีต่อความสัมพันธ์ ผู้เข้าร่วมการวิจัยคือวัยรุ่นชายและหญิงตอนต้น อายุ 12-15 ปี จำนวนทั้งสิ้น 273 คน แบ่งเป็นวัยรุ่นชายจำนวน 125 คน และวัยรุ่นหญิงจำนวน 148 คน ผู้วิจัยได้พัฒนาเครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ ได้แก่ 1) แบบสอบถามข้อมูลทั่วไป 2) มาตรวัดการรับรู้การล้อเลียน 3) มาตรวัดการไม่พึงพอใจในรูปลักษณ์ และ 4) มาตรวัดความอบอุ่นทางอารมณ์ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยสถิติเชิงพรรณนาและการวิเคราะห์อิทธิพลกำกับ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) ในวัยรุ่นชายตอนต้น ทั้งการล้อเลียนจากพ่อและการล้อเลียนจากแม่ไม่มีความสัมพันธ์กับการไม่พึงพอใจในรูปลักษณ์ นอกจากนี้ยังไม่พบอิทธิพลกำกับของความอบอุ่นทางอารมณ์จากพ่อแม่ในความสัมพันธ์ทั้งระหว่างการล้อเลียนจากพ่อและการล้อเลียนจากแม่กับการไม่พึงพอใจในรูปลักษณ์ 2) ในขณะที่ในวัยรุ่นหญิงตอนต้น พบความสัมพันธ์ทางบวกอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติระหว่างการล้อเลียนจากพ่อกับการไม่พึงพอใจในรูปลักษณ์ แต่ไม่พบความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างการล้อเลียนจากแม่และการไม่พึงพอใจในรูปลักษณ์ และไม่พบอิทธิพลกำกับของความอบอุ่นทางอารมณ์จากพ่อแม่ในความสัมพันธ์ทั้งระหว่างการล้อเลียนจากพ่อและการล้อเลียนจากแม่กับการไม่พึงพอใจในรูปลักษณ์ จากผลการวิจัยแสดงให้เห็นว่าการล้อเลียนจากพ่อแม่เป็นสิ่งที่สามารถพบได้ในครอบครัวไทย โดยการลดการล้อเลียนจากพ่อในวัยรุ่นหญิงตอนต้นอาจจะเป็นรูปแบบการสื่อสารที่ช่วยลดการไม่พึงพอใจในรูปลักษณ์ของวัยรุ่นหญิงตอนต้นให้น้อยลงได้
