Adoption And Functionality Of Koha Integrated Library Management System In Indian Institute Of Technology: A Comparative Study Between Bombay And Bhubaneswar, Ram Bhawan, K L. Mahawar

The study explores the adoption of Koha ILMS in the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) and Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar (IITBBS). The particular study researcher adopted the survey method and questionnaire tool used for data collection. The finding of the study shows both institutes are using commercial software before adopting Koha. Institutes migrate their data from old ILMS to Koha; Only IITBBS faces data quality problems during migration. Almost all of Koha modules have well received by both institutes. They are satisfied with only the acquisition module. The function of serial modules is unclear to IITB; however, open-source, …

In 1998, the Boyer Commission on Educating Undergraduates in the Research University suggested that undergraduate students should be involved in research to improve their learning. Undergraduate research publications arose partially as a response to this suggestion because they allow students to engage in experiential learning. They also allow students to see research as serving a larger purpose rather than simply satisfying a requirement for a grade. In May 2019, the Private Academic Library Network of Indiana was awarded a $525,000 grant from Lilly Endowment to improve student success and retention by supporting the use of open course materials across the 24 private institutional members. Since then, the PALSave administration team has reached over 100 faculty members across Indiana, created an adoption pilot program, and received over 40 faculty reviews for the Open Textbook Library. Now, PALSave is developing a publishing program, with full funding for five textbook creations over five years. Open access was intended to be the great equalizer but its promise has not come to fruition in many lower-income countries of the Global South. Under-resourcing is only one of the many reasons why these scholars and publishers are marginalized. In order to examine inequality in our global scholarly communications system, we can compare a negative and a positive outgrowth of this imbalance. Predatory publishing represents a a weak imitation of traditional, commercial journal publishing. In contrast, Latin America’s community-based, quality scholarly infrastructure is anti-colonial. The study also attempts to develop the ontology using ‘Methontology’, which is an ontology engineering methodology to explore the method. This report provides an analysis of the patents were granted for ten years (2010-2019) where at least one of the inventors is affiliated with a department or college from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. It identifies the number of patents with inventors from the various departments; the number of unique inventors in each department; and the college affiliations of the inventors; their inter- and extra-collegiate collaborators from campus and their off-campus campus collaborators.

This article aims to evaluate how and to what extent metadata of datasets indexed in DataCite offer clear human- or machine-readable information that enables the research data to be linked to a particular research institution. Two main pathways are explored. First, researchers can encode their affiliation information at the moment of data submission. This can be done by means of free-text metadata fields or via the inclusion of identifiers such as GRID/ROR and ORCID. Second, affiliation information can be traced indirectly through linking between a dataset and associated publications, given that the metadata of publications is often more explicit about …
