The paper examined the ICT knowledge and skills required for recruitment of the librarians in academic and research libraries. Survey approach was adopted drew sample of 24 respondents from four academic and four research libraries in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. The sample comprised of head of libraries, the deputy and one senior person. Data was gathered through interview. The results demonstrated that the basic ICT required for recruitment of librarian into the academic and research libraries at the digital age are the specific ICT skills useful and relevant to each unit of the library and the general skills such as …

First-year students completing Musselman Library’s portion of the fall 2018 Charting Your Course (CYC) orientation received one of these passports before beginning the activity. After visiting each of the Library departments and learning about work staff members do there, students received a passport stamp in order to track their progress.

Throughout academia, there lacks an existence of a commonly utilized multicomponent and interdisciplinary approach in understanding our outside world. This thesis provides an analysis of the current state of interdisciplinarity and the need to develop interdisciplinary theory. Through this effort, the researcher utilizes the health belief model as a framework that is severely limited in applicable scope due to its constructs. Scholars have unprecedented access to subscription and open access (OA) content, yet figuring out how to discover and access legitimate versions of articles remains an aggravating experience for many researchers. They face authentication hoops, myriad vendor platforms with uncertain holdings, and mystifying an obscure OA source. Researchers that start with Google Scholar may bypass library authentication and face paywalls. Conversely, library discovery tools fail to expose and deliver much of the available OA content, and especially under-represent Green OA from repositories. As the availability of open access (OA) copies continues to grow, platforms and libraries are increasingly facing the possibility of linking users to version of record copies as well as to OA but non-version of record copies of the same article. Some advocate prioritizing linking to OA copies while others argue that the version of record should be prioritized. Book banning or challenging is a complex issue, in which a person takes issue with a book in the library‟s collection, complains to the librarian, and sometimes demands that the book be removed from the collection entirely. Books for young adult audiences are especially at risk, and the reasons why these books are challenged or banned are numerous. By reading fifteen different young adult books from between the years of 1990 and 2016, the researchers performed a content analysis to look at the reasons why books may be challenged or banned. This study highlights the authorship trend and collaborative research in the area of lung cancer literature based on 93512 scholarly communications appeared in the lung cancer literature during 1997 to 2016.The study elaborates on various bibliometric components such as year wise distribution of articles, relative growth rate, doubling time, authorship pattern and collaborative coefficients. This article is an examination of the history of gender demographics in the field of librarianship. The historic development and subsequent "feminization" of librarianship continues to influence the gender wage gap and the disproportionate leadership bias in the field today. This article examines the stereotyping of librarians and the cyclical effect of genderizing the profession. Consideration of current trends and data in librarian demographics demonstrates a consistent decrease in gender diversity, accompanied by a troubling lack of women leaders and executives. As the School Library Journal / National Coalition Against Censorship shows, self-censorship among youth and school librarians is on the rise. Though self-censorship has always been an issue in the library science profession, the practice seems to be growing now because books for youth and young adults are becoming more mature.
