Two library professionals, a technical services librarian and an Archivist, describe their workflows during a system migration to OCLC Worldshare Management Systems from multiple existing systems at Lincoln Memorial University Carnegie Vincent Library. The migration was difficult at times and had some unexpected outcomes, but the end result was excellent for the students and the faculty of the university. The librarian and archivist provide suggestions to help other librarians and archivists during the process of a migration. They relate the experience to Past Perfect and Exlibris, Alma which were two system migrations they were separately involved in during later employment …

Challenges And Opportunities In Providing Academic Library Services To Incarcerated Higher Education Students: A Case Study From A Tennessee State Prison, Ryan Yoakum, Caroline Fleming

This case study describes the Belmont University Library’s partnership with a Tennessee men’s prison to provide access to higher education. The program has led to challenges relating to communication, circu-lation, cataloging, and collection development. These library services are necessary to provide students with access to information not only for their academic endeavors, but also for their own well-being and growth. This paper explores possible solutions to the information deficit of incarcerated students and how the library can support the needs of an underserved population.

The objective of the study was to determine the impact of mindfulness on online information search strategies of undergraduate students at the University of Ibadan. The study assessed the level of online information search strategies, and mindfulness dimension, aiming at identifying the relationship between the independent variable (mindfulness dimension) on online information search strategies. The study was conducted on undergraduate students of the University of Ibadan.

The research adopted a correlational research survey design, with a total population of 11,812 students across seven faculties that were purposively determined, and a sample of 387 using Yamane (1967) sampling formula. The data …

As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to reshape aspects of our world, fears and misunderstandings about its implications are widespread. Some of these concerns are rooted in the practices and beliefs of our religious communities. This paper aims to address worries regarding AI and its impact on religion and Christian traditions. It does so by examining the nature of AI and its limitations, stressing the importance of informed discussions within communities. Examples drawn from academic literature, scripture, and prominent figures within the Church are used to illustrate key points. A Study Of The Collection Development And Usage Of Vinyl Albums At Huntingdon College From 1970 To The Present, Daniel N. Dubei

The author reviews the history of collection development of the vinyl collection at Huntingdon College. With interviews from current and former faculty and staff, the author shows how donations of vinyl al-bums helped propel the extensive quantity of albums. The author discusses how the collection circulated throughout the 1970s to the 1990s, when CDs arrived on the scene. The quick transition to digital streaming along with short staffing has caused these vinyl albums to sit, neglected in a classroom, un-used for decades. The vinyl collection also does not have enough cataloging data for easy discoverability and circulation. The author collaborated …
