This paper traces the history and development of library consortia in China from 1980 to the present. It also gives examples and descriptions of various types of library consortia in China, including academic, public, special, multi-type library consortia at the regional and national level.

This paper highlights the advantages in using the Pro CD database on FirstSearch. It also identifies some weaknesses for business use and the constraints caused by the system. We provide guidelines and searching tips that will aid in maximum retrieval, usefulness of results, and cost-effectiveness.

This essay aims to provide an overview of electronic resources for the study and teaching of classics—including Greek and Latin languages and literature, philosophy, religion, art and archaeology, and ancient history—with particular emphasis on the tools most useful for a library collection serving an undergraduate clientele. Most of this discussion is devoted to CD-ROMs and other soft ware that are available for purchase, lease, or subscription. A short section at the end of the essay summarizes resources available on the Internet.
