This study aims to identify and analyze the availability collections of Library Center of IAIN Surakarta, and the factors that influence the availability of materials teaching for Islamic Counseling and Guidance Study Programme. This research is a qualitative and quantitative methode. Data analysis was carried out using the checklist and interview. Based on the research, 49,5% availability collections for institute level courses, and 44.7% for departement level. Based on the findings research, Library Center of IAIN Surakarta collections has not fulfilled the need for compulsory teaching materials. Soldiers of the First World War viewed their experience not only through the lens that surrounds a colored iris but also through the lens of a camera. World War I marked the first time that the camera traveled with amateurs to war. Unencumbered by the assortment of nineteenth-century equipment necessary to develop a single photograph, soldiers of the new century used the camera to capture their personal view of war (Carmichael, 1989). Their pictures tell a story of comradeship, the daily drudgeries of duty, and sacrifice. Words convey thoughts and emotions. A photograph captures them for display.

Inhabitants of Great Britain have been brewing and drinking ale since the Bronze Ages. The province of Britannia and its capital Londinium were ruled by the Romans almost 2,000 years ago. Romans were great builders of roads that connected tabernae, which served food, wine, and local ale. These tabernae displayed vine leaves outside to advertise their trade.

With universities, parents, and politicians paying close attention to student success after college, academic libraries are making efforts to support career readiness and preparation through collections and licensed resources as well as related instruction sessions and reference services. This paper presents examples from business librarians at three universities, covering a wide range of practical opportunities for libraries to support career preparation across campus, including partnering with Career Services for database cost sharing and career readiness workshops, teaching students to conduct company and industry research for interview preparation and salary negotiation, and out-of-the-box opportunities at career fairs and Alumni Association events.

Musselman Library Passport: Extended First-Year Orientation Activity, Mallory R. Jallas, Kevin Moore

All Musselman Library Staff Works

First-year students completing Musselman Library’s portion of the fall 2018 Charting Your Course (CYC) orientation received one of these passports before beginning the activity. After visiting each of the Library departments and learning about work staff members do there, students received a passport stamp in order to track their progress.

This poster reports on a study that investigated:

a. The impact of students’ use of technology for extracurricular purposes during instruction sessions and its effects on their learning and retention of information.

b. Whether attendance at a previous library instruction session provided the students with the advantage of scoring higher in the assessment, and

c. Whether the use of these technologies in class sessions was disruptive to other students.

Digital Science’s Dimensions has been officially launched in January 2018. At a first glance, this is an exciting development, bringing new competition to the existing field, which is dominated by Clarivate’s Web of Science and Elsevier’s Scopus. Since Dimensions is a freemium, features such as full text and citation analytics require a subscription. Prior to subscription, library typically conducts trials and thorough evaluation, measuring the value that Dimensions brings to the institution, comparing it to existing products, calculating the cost of switching, examining its features and contents, and even considering the future of the product and the company.This paper, however, …

Assessing Of Iranian Medical English Journals Based On Journal Selection Criteria In Scopus, Shahram Sedghi, Somayeh Ghaffari

Journals which have been indexed in universal citation databases can introduce their countries’ scientific productions to the world’ scientific communications. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate Iranian Medical English Journals (IMEJ) based on Scopus’ journal selection criteria. This is a descriptive quantitative study which deals with the last issues of 52 numbers of IMEJ which have not been indexed in Web of Science, Scopus, and PubMed. Data is collected using a researcher-developed checklist whose validity was confirmed by faculty members. Microsoft Office Excel was used to analyze data.
