Funded by a National Endowment for Humanities (NEH) Humanities Collections and Reference Resources Foundations Grant, the UA Little Rock Center for Arkansas History and Culture’s “Mapping Renewal” pilot project focused on creating access to and providing spatial context to archival materials related to racial segregation and urban renewal in the city of Little Rock, Arkansas, from 1954-1989. An unplanned interdisciplinary collaboration with the UA Little Rock Arkansas Economic Development Institute (AEDI) has proven to be an invaluable partnership. Kentucky Virtual Library’s Affordable Learning Steering Committee, an initiative of the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE), is a working group of librarians from universities around Kentucky exploring ways to advance Kentucky in the Open Educational Resource (OER) / Affordable Textbook movement.

The panel presentation included an overview of their work to date and a discussion with the audience about Kentucky’s needs and strategies related to affordable courseware for students on topics including working with campus bookstores, adding course resources to library collections, using e-reserves dynamically, promoting faculty use and creation of open content, and campus textbook initiatives.

Expanding and modernising information services are crucial to the continual existence and patronage of academic libraries in the digital era. Technological evolutions have impelled libraries to incorporate all-encompassing, user-friendly and technology-driven service delivery approaches in academic libraries. Emerging technologies seem to fill this perceived gap. This study brings to light the level of awareness, adoption, preferred and readiness for the incorporation of emerging technologies into academic libraries activities in Nigeria. The Natchez Association for the Preservation of African American History and Culture (NAPAC) is a repository of local history that spotlights the life of black citizens from the turn of the century to the modern-day. What makes the NAPAC Museum unique is that it collects history that is only native to Natchez, Mississippi. The rich heritage of the African American culture is interpreted through artifacts and other relics that allow one to focus on what was then and what is now. The purpose of this study is to document the collections, organization, events, and degree of digitization of the museum.

The first book-length project on the Collection, edited by Carolyn J. Brown, Ellen Hunter Ruffin, and Eric L. Tribunella, includes unique aspects of the holdings in scholarly essays written by children’s literature “notables.” Along with over ninety full-color images, the book examines the Collection’s strengths: Fairy tales, 19^th Century periodicals, African American children’s literature, the Golden Age of illustrated books, early books for children, and many more.

This paper aims to investigate the information need and seeking behaviour of physicians working in a well-reputed Lahore based hospital. Identification of medical professionals’ existing problems related to information searching and retrieval from the hospital library was another main objective of this study. A quantitative research approach is utilized to conduct this study and a cross-sectional survey research method is used to collect data on a self-reporting questionnaire. A total 226 medical doctors working in a Lahore based hospital participated in the survey. Preventive programs serve a significant purpose in ensuring population health and reducing burden on the healthcare system (Cohen et al., 2008; Neumann & Cohen, 2009).
