Social media has continued to develop and change rapidly since its inception. In order to best meet the information needs of users and gather as much visibility as possible, new platforms have been created and older platforms have been updated to improve usage. Because of these changes, engagement with newer, yet highly popular social media platforms such as TikTok has not been studied as widely as more traditional platforms such as Facebook. Storyville: A Study Of Artifacts, Martha Quinn Fentress

Operating from 1897 to 1917, sixteen blocks from the French Quarter district of New Orleans, Louisiana, several buildings were created to establish a legal red light district known as “Storyville.” The area was named after its creator, Alderman Sidney Story, who enacted the applicable ordinances and helped to establish the district. The creation of Storyville was meant to bring regulation to the sex trade and organized crime. The creation of the sixteen blocks of the district was influenced by a diverse range of experiences, ranging from cheap "cribs," vibrant music halls, saloons, and lavish mansions filled with "top dollar" ladies. …

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the digital collection of the National Gallery of Art’s library with a focus on the diversity of topics, artists, and themes. This study could be a resource to librarians responsible for digital collections and art librarians that want to ensure that their digital collections are seen as diverse. Additionally, this study adds to the body of scholarly literature related to art libraries, digital collections, and diversity, and the research conducted could be used to further analyze other digital collections.

Children who read for pleasure, as well as for information, do so because they have first learned the simple mechanics of reading. Once the mechanics are in place, children seek out stories that are of interest to them. Reading engaging materials holds the interest of children. As readers encounter increasingly complex reading material, their comprehension and reading abilities increase. It is important that children's literature is not only entertaining, but also complex in age-appropriate ways (Juel, 1988).

This study conducted a collection analysis of five LGBTQ+ grassroots archives located in North America to exhibit how marginalized communities build and preserve their history on their own. By assessing the different collections for certain metrics and demographics such as the number of materials representing different aspects of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as the types of materials prioritized from t-shirts to posters and books, this study highlights the role these community archives play in the representation of marginalized histories. A Collection Analysis Of The Tana Hoban Papers In The De Grummond Children’S Literature Collection, Constance Martin

The de Grummond holdings of Tana Hoban’s work contain items she donated from 1982 to 1991 as well as copies of her books received from other donors. These materials include correspondence; biographical materials; her diaries; and some of her work as a commercial photographer, including photos and advertisements. There are also promotional items for her books and items related to a 1973 educational filmstrip series for which Hoban served on the creative development team (Brown, 2021; (“Tana Hoban Papers,” n.d.). ABSTRACT

This research work investigated the preservation of information resources and user satisfaction with the use of library in Oko Polytechnic, Anambra State. The population of the study comprises 39 library staff and sample size of the study was 20 library staff which was selected randomly using simple random sample techniques. Three research questions were formulated to guide this study. Data was collected using the questionnaire, and was analysed with descriptive statistics. This study explored gender within the CODES List-Cookbooks 2019-2022, a juried list of cookbooks published 2018-2021, as well as determined if Texas public colleges and universities carry these titles. A content analysis of 53 public library systems’ websites listed on the Public Library Directory of Mississippi Library Commission was conducted. The purpose of the study was to find types and levels of digital services offered by these library systems. The term “digital services” has been more used in recent literature, which suggests that more libraries started offering more since the start of COVID-19. This study intended to look closely how Mississippi’s public libraries follow the national trend.

One definition is that a crisis is an event beyond the normal situation that acts as a disruption to library operations and services and can damage the library’s reputation (Pedraza, 2010). Just this past year in 2021, the American Library Association (ALA) had to release a statement in response to an increase in censorship of materials centered on LGBTQIA+ issues and books by Black authors, Indigenous authors, or other people of color.
