Belmont University was chosen to host the final presidential debate of the 2020 election. Undeterred by even the COVID-19 pandemic, administration was determined to forge ahead with holding this historic event at Belmont. They formed a committee to document the event and archive its materials. As IR managers, we thanked our lucky stars for this huge opportunity and potential spotlight for our relatively unheralded IR. We were tasked with writing a scalable preservation policy and collecting and archiving physical and digital Debate materials. Archives Exhibits

IMSA students exhibit a high degree of creativity when they design tee-shirts, like the one for Harambee, or Jazz Band, or Senior Class club. And then there are sports uniforms. Did you know that one of the early teams had a corduroy baseball cap. All are part of the Archives’ extensive collection of IMSA apparel club, including Class Club tee-shirts, former sports uniforms and hats, and even an apron used by a member of the faculty serving breakfast to the seniors on the morning of graduation day. This exhibit includes that apron, some tee-shirts, and hats including the corduroy one.

In the Summer of 2022, Rich Bergstrom (class of 1994) asked that the Archives store the time capsule that his class had put together before they graduated. Per the plan, the capsule was opened at the 20 – year reunion, a few things were added, and it was then reopened again at the reunion five years later. This exhibit includes selections from the time capsule, including samples of the orange carpeting, Ramen Noodle packages, the audio tape Boyz II Men (with the favorite song of the class “It’s so Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday,” and a bedsheet with everyone’s …

If you have been visited the library lately, you will notice there is a new exhibit on the first floor.

This exhibit highlights the extensive Texas State Board of Medical Examiners records (IC 058) of two physicians whose stories stood out. Hesiquio Rodriguez and Moore Yen. Though they were applying to the Texas State Board back in the 1950s and 1960s, Heisiquio Rodriguez’ and Moore Yen’s stories highlight themes that continue to resonate today.

Library Presentations

Kentucky newspapers are a valuable research option with many articles about the history of the state, as well as national and international news. This presentation was brief overview of the Kentucky Newspaper Digital Program [KDNP] and its development over many years. KDNP provides patrons access to the hundreds of Kentucky newspaper titles. Many of these titles are available full-text online via the University of Kentucky Library catalog. The weekly history vignettes are based on Kentucky newspaper articles and cover a wide range of topics. They are online at the KDNP Facebook site.

ABSTRACT This research work investigated the record management and services delivery of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Delta state chapter. The study was carried out by using descriptive survey research design. Three specific objectives, three research questions were formulated to guide the study. The population of the study comprises 452 staff of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Delta state chapter, with sample size of 213 staff. Questionnaire was used as instrument for data collection. Data was analysed with descriptive statistics. The GDL repository system application has been used by the Politeknik Negeri Bandung (Polban) since 2005 until now and never been done its evaluation. Ideally the application is evaluated and analyzed its system, utilization level and information organization of its features and menus.
