Navigating confusing peer-review structures in publishing can be daunting for librarians at all stages of their career. In this paper, the authors will differentiate peer-review models and reflect on their experiences with these formats in the context of the [redacted] special issue of [redacted]. Additional discussion will include the hidden curriculum of publishing; areas for growth in peer-review related to diversity, equity, and inclusion; and peer-review as an individual and collective form of professional development that shapes how we engage with scholarship in LIS.

At the same time, irresponsible use could exacerbate societal harms such as fraud, discrimination, bias, and disinformation; displace and disempower workers; stifle competition; and pose risks to national security. Harnessing AI for good and realizing its myriad benefits requires mitigating its substantial risks. The goal of this study is to learn how postgraduate students in Nigeria's university libraries perceive and use serial resources. The study used a descriptive survey as its method. 295 postgraduate library and information science students from four South-East regional institutions two state universities and two federal universities make up the research population. The instrument used to collect the data was a questionnaire. Based on the study's goals, a questionnaire was created. The study explored the stages of pregnancy at which pregnant women seek information from various sources and the challenges pregnant women encounter in seeking information. A Mixed-method approach was used to carry out the study. A questionnaire was used to collect data from 148 pregnant women from three hospitals namely, Tamale Teaching Hospital, Tamale West Hospital, and the Seventh Day Adventist Hospital, Interviews were conducted with three midwives, one from each hospital, and a Gynecologist at the Tamale Teaching Hospital. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Skills of Professional Staff Working in University Libraries in Rayalaseems, Andhra Pradesh: A Study was conducted. In the Andhra Pradesh region of Rayalaseema, there are approximately 11 universities, including State and Deemed institutions. The study area of universities employs 60 library personnel. Data were gathered using the census sampling approach and a structured questionnaire. In addition, the researcher made personal visits and used the study's observation method to evaluate the criteria and selection of the sample universities, as well as the status and ICT proficiency of library professional staff employed in university libraries.

This article discusses the use of the Quality Matters Rubric for Higher Education, 6^th ed. to self-review an asynchronous information literacy course. In this instance, the authors acted as reviewers and subject matter experts (SME). The Rubric proved to be a useful tool that encompasses several instructional design best practices. After the official self-review period, the QM Rubric influenced the enhancement and updates to the course. The authors recommend more use of the QM Rubric by teaching librarians, collaboration with instructors going through a QM Review, and training for online teaching in Library and Information Science graduate programs.

Last year during Open Access Week, Georgia State University Library asked its students, "What should professors know about expensive textbooks?" and "What have you done when a textbook was too expensive?" Applying open pedagogical approaches, these questions were displayed on white boards at library service desks on each campus. Students were encouraged to respond to the first question in their own words, and they were asked to respond to the second question by selecting one of five responses. Responses were analyzed and anonymized, and they were then used in faculty professional development to demonstrate the local impact of expensive textbooks. …

In this session, learn how librarians at Concordia University, St. Paul helped lead an initiative to implement OERs throughout the university’s General Education (GE) curriculum. During the summer term, librarians — along with instructional designers and the LMS team — updated thirteen courses, reworking the curriculum, reenvisioning assignments, and replacing traditional course materials with open or library-licensed content. This initiative resulted in more than $110,000 in savings per semester for full-time students.

Throughout the process, librarians encountered many challenges, including resistance from faculty, replacing entrenched ancillary materials from major publishers (quizzes, labs, etc.), and managing expectations. And while the initiative …

This exhibit, developed by English professor Dr. Katie Owens-Murphy and curated by librarian Jennifer Pate, led to the development of both a physical Alabama Death Row Archive and a digital archive housed in the library’s institutional repository, the Repository of Open Access Research (RoOAR).
