The primary goal of this study is to learn about the challenges and problems that information literacy programs face from the perspective of library users and how these programs might be improved for the benefit of library users. There are two main aspects to this study: one focuses on user perceptions, and the other focuses on the planning of library information programs that fulfill the needs and wants of users.

Assessment of customer activities in academic, public, and special libraries demonstrates their impact and value to library administrators and constituents. In turn, this assists in securing and maintaining advocacy and financial support. Although many formal and informal assessment best practices have evolved to measure the quantitative and qualitative impact of information literacy instruction, few if any best practices have been established to measure impact specific to Patent & Trademark Resource Center (PTRC) customers. In this case study, the authors describe a virtual event designed to enrich a campus common read with historical cookbooks. The program included an overview of the collection and a real-time activity to engage participants in virtually examining rare and unique Chinese cookbooks. A set of guiding questions emphasized primary source literacies including analyses of physical characteristics, contexts, content, and further research that can be conducted by consulting the collection. Although research early in the pandemic primarily emphasized libraries’ pandemic response and service to patrons, more interest has developed regarding library workers and their experiences. This study seeks to understand the impacts library workers experienced from the beginning of institutions’ initial pandemic response through the end of 2020. This article focuses on a subset of the data related to the health concerns and impacts Kentucky library workers experienced during distinct phases of the early pandemic. Responses to this survey indicate that workers required to be onsite were impacted more frequently with COVID-related health concerns while all library workers experienced significant …
