Self-disclosure on social networking sites (SNSs) leads to social capital development, connectedness, and relationship building. Due to several benefits associated with this behavior, self-disclosure has become a subject of research over the last few years. The current study investigates the antecedents of self-disclosure under the lens of the technology acceptance model (TAM). The research is quantitative, and the data were collected from 400 Pakistani Facebook users with a variety of demographic characteristics. The partial least squares-structural equation model (PLS-SEM) analysis technique was employed to analyze the data. The purpose of the study was to establish the perceptions of librarians on the usefulness of digital rights management systems in digital libraries as mechanisms of securing digital content from copyright violation in order to assess the general usefulness of the DRM technology. The study used Strathmore University library and Moi University Nairobi Campus library as the case studies. A Census was carried out because the population under study was small with a total of 34 respondents. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were employed in this study.

Students and teachers need to understand what rules govern their digital experience in terms of data being collected from the systems and software they use. Students have a tendency to share personal information online, and are largely unconcerned about third-party access to their data.30 Furthermore, they may feel pressured to waive privacy rights in order to participate in classroom activities requiring the use of educational technology tools.31 The recent COVID-19 pandemic has further exacerbated this problem. Using Critical Race Theory's storytelling method, this chapter weaves a tale set in a school library setting told through the eyes of Jamal, a 17 year old Black male Harvard -bound scholar athlete. Using artifacts to build the plot, the story shines light on places where diversity and inclusion initiatives fail, where unchecked privilege and whiteness do harm to everyone touched by them, where inequality ruins lives and where libraries might be spaces of hope and possibility.

This study examines librarians' perceptions, capabilities, and understandings of Big Data analytics in public sector university libraries in Karachi, Pakistan. To acquire the desired results, a survey was conducted and using a quantitative approach. The study's target audience was library administrators at public sector university libraries in Karachi, all of which are recognized by Pakistan's Higher Education Commission and chartered by the Sindh Government. We examine the libraries' roles within the "epistemic foundation of society.” Our analysis is in response to the omission of Yale Law Dean Gerken of the role of libraries in her recent article about legal education's new focus and to remarks by AALS President Vicki Jackson that suggest an uncertain role for libraries. We have adapted holistic ecological media theory, as developed by Ronald Deibert, to reject a technologically deterministic view of libraries as having no future. Health sciences students regularly engage in problem-based learning. This information literacy activity introduces a public health scenario and asks students to use published sources to determine the cause of a described disease and develop a treatment protocol. The activity design highlights different levels of information privilege and invites students to consider challenges to accessing public health information in a variety of settings. The exercise was initially created for undergraduate students in a 300-level global health course.

Information Systems (IS) are critical for employee productivity and organizational success. Data breaches are on the rise—with thousands of data breaches accounting for billions of records breached and annual global cybersecurity costs projected to reach $10.5 trillion by 2025. A data breach is the unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information—and can be achieved intentionally or unintentionally. Significant causes of data breaches are hacking and human error; in some estimates, human error accounted for about a quarter of all data breaches in 2018. Employees’ lack of compliance with password policies increases password susceptibility, which leads to financial damages to the organizations as a result of information disclosure, fraud, and unauthorized transactions. However, few studies have examined what motivates employees to comply with password policies.

The purpose of this quantitative cross-sectional study was to examine what factors influence employees’ compliance with password policies. A theoretical model was developed based on Protection Motivation Theory (PMT), General Deterrence Theory (GDT), Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA), and Psychological Ownership Theory to explain employees’ compliance with password policies.
