The New Neilson Library

With so much change happening in the manufacturing industry with the onset of new product transparency and disclosure standards, it can be difficult to know how to get involved in market transformation efforts. Our goal for this session is to share an example of how Smith College tackled this challenge. It will include an overview of the Material Health & Transparency Initiative implemented on the Neilson Library project, and the project's team efforts to use this iconic building as a way to advocate for positive change in the marketplace.

Information awareness is the embodiment of the academic research characteristics for information studies.This paper discusses issues related to the description of the path of information awareness research and the transmission of research results.It points out that the results of information awareness need to be expressed by information description.The behavior of information awareness and information description is intertwined，and their process is blended.To analyze the principles，methods and abilities of information description is not only a requirement for doing well in information awareness，but also an indispensable feature of the exploration for information studies.

A large number of method entities are mentioned by academic papers in the field of Information Science.Identifying and analyzing the method entities can help researchers make a comprehension of the discipline and find the appropriate method for their own research.The methods corpus with high quality is the foundation of extracting method entities from academic articles.This article proposes an annotation framework of method entity and carries out the construction of methods corpora.Specifically，we first construct the structured full-text corpus of academic articles of Information Science;after that，we identify the method sentences and method entities to obtain the methods corpora by manual annotation.This research …

With the SCIE database in the core collection of Web of Science as the data source，TDA，SPSS， VOSviewer，UCINET and other tools，combined with bibliometric analysis，visual analysis，social network analysis and other methods，this paper studied the academic papers of 20 major countries in the field of gene editing from 2004 to 2018 in three dimensions: total，citation and topic.The results show that the research on gene editing has entered a rapid phase，and different countries have different performance in different dimensions.The United States has the largest number of academic papers，and China has the fastest growth rate.China and the United States are the top two countries in …
