The development of data and model integration platforms has furthered scientific inquiry and helped to solve pressing social and environmental problems. While several e-infrastructure platforms have been developed, the concept of data and model integration remains obscure, and these platforms have produced few firm results. This article investigates data and model integration on the Data Integration and Analysis System (DIAS) platform, using three case projects from water-related fields. We provide concrete examples of data and model integration by analyzing the data transfer and analysis process, and demonstrate what platform functions are needed to promote the advantages of data and model …

This display will challenge students to think about the process that publications go through in order to arrive in their hands in time for class. The display features three scenarios and questions about the publication process with a flip-up feature to reveal the answer. Evidence-based eLearning tools have proliferated in recent decades, but adoption at scale remains elusive. Educator buy-in is important for successful implementation of eLearning tools, and is often engaged through peer discussion, learning communities, and other educator network engagement. These non-expert sources of motivation and support for adoption, however, rarely embed specific implementation-related knowledge which eases initial phases of adoption and pedagogical integration. Such information is rarely missed but often missing from casual, technological, and pedagogical support. As archivists process collections, they often find they must make difficult decisions that change the arrangement or description of a collection. If we want to avoid becoming that archivist whose actions our successors question, we should create and document more transparent processing practices. Documenting our decisions can improve communication, consistency, and clarity. It promotes transparency and, in turn, supports the integrity and authenticity of the collection. Content from the College of Fine Arts (Schools of Music, Art, and Theatre and Dance) had, to that point, been less present in the IR than content from other colleges. With goals of increasing visibility for CFA activities and scholarship and providing a stable digital home for its content, I worked with stakeholders in the library and in CFA to develop new IR collections of programs, newsletters, and student and faculty work. The purpose of the study is to analyze various features and functions of Library and Information Science (LIS) Blogs in India with the help of specially designed evaluation checklist and ranked them based on features/functions. A structured evaluation checklist contains 110 dichotomous questions, categorized in three broad categories. The findings of the study explore different features of LIS blogs which reveals that three of the blogs i.e. Library and Information Science Friends (LIS Friends), The Co-Professionals LIS and Library Soup has the highest scored among the seven studied LIS blogs. The aim of this study is to identify the influence of Jobstreet.com to the information needs. The research approach is quantitative approach with descriptive research type through survey. The respondent is graduate student of Library Science Universitas Indonesia which graduated in 2017 and used Jobstreet.com amounted to 44 respondents. Based on the calculation of the regression coefficients, all the variables showed a positive value to usability (0.927), information quality (0.983), and service interaction quality (1.343). The results shows that all independent variables have a direct positive relationship to the dependent variable. The independent variables which give the dominant influence is …

The Anchor, Volume 132.06: October 17, 2018, Hope College

The Anchor: 2018

The Anchor began in 1887 and was first issued weekly in 1914. Covering national and campus news alike, Hope College’s student-run newspaper has grown over the years to encompass over two-dozen editors, reporters, and staff. For much of The Anchor's history, the latest issue was distributed across campus each Wednesday throughout the academic school year (with few exceptions). In recent years The Anchor moved to monthly print issues and a more frequently updated website. The Anchor is now published in print twice per academic semester. Occasionally, the volume and/or issue numbering is irregular.
