The paper brings out the results of a bibliometric analysis of the journal titled " Journal of Emerging Market Finance” which published 13 volumes and 38 Issues with 160 research articles during the period 2002-2014. The data were downloaded from the journal's website. This study aims at analysing the research output performance of finance on management science subjects. The analysis cover mainly the number of articles, authorship pattern, average number of references per articles length of articles, paper per author and authors per paper, number of cited documents, citation per year, citation per paper and author and identified the year-wise …

The Communication Skills Accounting Firms Desire In New Hires, Leticia Camacho

Faculty Publications

Interviews were conducted with human resource (HR) managers from accounting firms to determine managers’ expectations of future accounting graduates. Results show HR managers are looking to hire individuals that possess strong oral and written communication skills. HR managers also reported that they expect students to use these skills to represent their company well in meetings, presentations, client appointments, as well as print and electronic correspondence. The study concludes with a discussion of how business librarians can assist faculty in preparing accounting students for successful careers and of implications for librarians to consider in their library instruction and other librarianship activities.

Redundancy Of Instruction : Library Instruction In First-Year Courses, Jeffrey Henry

Faculty & Staff Research and Creative Activity

The first-year experience that students have with the library is integral to their success in college and beyond. This poster explores the critical relationship students have with the library and how to nurture it in the first year. Redundancy of material covered in instruction sessions could be off-putting and diminish the perceptions these students have of the library and its offerings. Collecting student feedback to determine the redundancy that students may be experiencing in these first-year course library instruction sessions and the usefulness of the information presented to them can help to inform us about future materials covered.

This workshop provides an introduction to open access publishing models and discusses its implication for faculty research and student learning. Participants leave with a solid understanding of open access and important related areas, such as copyright, that empowers them to make informed decisions when publishing and contribute public scholarship for the sake of the public good.

Promoting a survey - it's all about getting people to click on it, right? Not always. This session will describe the promotion campaign we designed for the James Madison University Libraries' 2015 LibQUAL+ survey. Ultimately, this campaign was not just about the survey - it was about how we want our campus to feel about the Libraries.

Libraries commonly engage their user communities by gathering users' feedback. Analyzing and acting on user feedback can lead to the responsive design and (re)development of library services, spaces, and programs. The Anchor: 2015

The Anchor began in 1887 and was first issued weekly in 1914. Covering national and campus news alike, Hope College’s student-run newspaper has grown over the years to encompass over two-dozen editors, reporters, and staff. For much of The Anchor's history, the latest issue was distributed across campus each Wednesday throughout the academic school year (with few exceptions). In recent years The Anchor moved to monthly print issues and a more frequently updated website. The Anchor is now published in print twice per academic semester. Occasionally, the volume and/or issue numbering is irregular.
