Though this collection encompasses 1953 to 1990, the most comprehensive records are found from 1953 to 1971 and from 1973 to 1977. Materials from other years are less detailed and systematic in comparison, with seeming gaps in recording.

The meeting minutes provide an inkling of the community issues with which the area pastors concerned themselves. Correspondence included in this collection may elaborate on some of those issues. Church and pastor member listings also comprise the minutes. Financial records, as well as minutes, reflect the programs supported by the Ministerial Association. This study investigated the Availability of Captions Resources and Library Patronage by Hearing Impaired Students in University Libraries of South-South Nigeria. One research question and one hypothesis was formulated to guide the study and tested at .05 level of significance. Survey research design was employed. The population for the study was 57 hearing impaired students from 10 universities in south-South Nigeria. Purposive sampling technique was used in the study. A structured questionnaire was developed and used to elicit information from the respondents. This collection contains personal items belonging to Saxon including his master's thesis, personal employment application, tax return, and photographs. In addition to these items, there are newspaper clippings from his time with the Georgia Education Association and the Georgia Accrediting Commission. The bulk of the collection consists of correspondence from educators around the state of Georgia concerning his candidacy for offices in the Georgia Education Association. There are several reports and audits for the Quitman Public Schools included in this collection, as well as newspaper clippings reporting on the progress made in public education in the 1930s through the 1960s. …

The Anchor: 2015

The Anchor began in 1887 and was first issued weekly in 1914. Covering national and campus news alike, Hope College’s student-run newspaper has grown over the years to encompass over two-dozen editors, reporters, and staff. For much of The Anchor's history, the latest issue was distributed across campus each Wednesday throughout the academic school year (with few exceptions). In recent years The Anchor moved to monthly print issues and a more frequently updated website. The Anchor is now published in print twice per academic semester. Occasionally, the volume and/or issue numbering is irregular.

Serials Renewal Cycle: Doing It The Smu (A Different U) Way!, Kai Leong Heng

Academic libraries typically renew their serials subscriptions (Individual print and/or online titles) annually by comparing prices, availability and service terms proposed by different subscription agents. In Singapore (and possibly other countries in the region), we have only up to 3 (active and competing) subscription agents to choose from. At Singapore Management University (SMU), the library maintains about 500 serials titles. The “legacy” practice had been to split the order between the two of larger agents and designate a staff each to take charge of related operational matters. Mellon Foundation awarded a group of librarians from ARL's Research Library Leadership Fellows program a planning grant to examine the center of excellence (CoE) model for information services. Used in a variety of industries, CoEs are designed to attract the most talented researchers in a particular field, enhance collaboration, and improve access to the resources needed for their research. The planning grant was awarded to determine whether the CoE model could serve as a means to provide the new services required for the effective use of digital information.

With the increasing virtualization of resources, reference service and instruction, college students have fewer reasons to visit the academic library, a place they believe lacks relevance in their lives. This article explores the idea of revitalizing academic libraries by reconsidering the place of pleasure reading in them. Considerable research has been conducted on reading in the last quarter century. Reading serves a host of essential functions, far more than we have ever guessed.
