The traditional role of libraries as aggregators, curators and disseminators of resources has been profoundly challenged by the notion of libraries as publishers of content. The traditional publishing model is based on ownership, commerce, paid exchanges, and scholarship as a commodity. Libraries are based on a service model of sharing resources & free exchange. Academic libraries are therefore uniquely positioned to provide publishing solutions which can reduce student costs and provide faculty and students an alternative to traditional publishing. Last July, Winona State University’s Darrell W. Krueger Library rolled out a completely new website. This January we added to that new user experience by upgrading to LibGuides and LibAnswers v2. Now, we’re looking for continuous improvement through continuous user experience (UX) testing. Although I have some knowledge of the history and general tenets of user experience and website design, I signed up for this LITA pre-conference to dive into some case studies and ask specific questions of UX specialists. Discussions pertaining to the various Islamic dimensions are actively being undertaken in the media. Within the academic circle, journal articles are accepted as an effective media in the dissemination of knowledge. Articles with Islamic perspectives can be found in disciplines that include Medicine, Banking, Economics and Finance. However, there is little to suggest of the types and frequencies of Islamic perspectives in Medical Imaging. This paper attempts to fill the gap. The bulk of the collection is the notes and papers from courses Mrs. Wills took while at Georgia State College for Women. However, these papers do not represent her entire course load during her academic career; it appears that many of them come from her junior and senior years.
