This paper describes learning outcomes of a three-day workshop on integrating primary sources into K-12 teaching. The short curriculum — intended for teams of teachers and school librarians — combined visits to a museum and a library's special collections with an introduction to significant national and local digital collections of primary sources. The paper draws on focus group data, reflection papers, and a conference presentation by the workshop participants as well as curricular artifacts presented to the workshop instructors. Using their workshop experience, teachers integrated digitized primary sources into their curricula thereby creating quality instructional content that engaged students' interest. …

This paper details three projects utilizing geographic information systems (GIS) in the assessment of public libraries. The benefits of GIS include the abilities to generate maps to convey more information than through other means and to allow for spatial analysis of library services. This paper includes specific examples of uses implemented by the authors. GIS allowed the authors to display data related to library service and identify various disparities across service areas. The study presents an analysis of 766 publications; 94 books, 59 chapters in books, 598 research papers and 15 patents contributed by Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman in which 83 (10.83 %) are single-authored while 683 (89.17 %) co-authored published from 1966 to June 2007 in various domains as: Natural Products (90), Natural Products-syn (9), Natural Products-nmr (14) Natural Products-isol (423), Natural Products-x-ray (9), Synthesis (132), Medicinal Chemistry (24), Spectroscopy (27), Analytical Chemistry (8) and Miscellaneous (30). Citation Analysis Of Dissertations Of Law Submitted To University Of Delhi, Joginder Singh Burman, M. Sheela

A total of 3,052 citations were analyzed appended from 33 dissertations submitted by LLM students of University of Delhi, Delhi in 2006.It was found that 25.52% citations were from the journal articles and EPW with 7.19% citations was the most used journal.69.78% citations were from the subject of Law and 79.84% contributions were produced under single author-ship.41% periodicals were cited from USA.Half-life of periodical literature was 11 years.

Reading has been the object of empirical and theoretical investigations since the distant past and has been studied from every possible angle by researchers from different subjects such as psychology, sociology, education, media studies, and library and information science. The present study investigates the reading habits of rural and urban college students of Kashmir Valley. The sample was selected through statistical sampling formula and stratified random sampling technique was used to select students. A questionnaire was used as a data collection tool. Academic Library Directors' Perceptions Of Joining A Large Library Consortium Sharing An Integrated Library System: A Descriptive Survey, Dennis Krieb

The collective holdings of CARLI’s (Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois) “I-Share” catalog total approximately 32 million items.  It is the third largest academic catalog in the United States, however only 76 of CARLI’s 148 academic libraries participate in I-Share.  This descriptive survey examined the factors that influenced a CARLI academic library director’s decision to join, or not join, I-Share’s integrated library system.  Seventy-seven of the 145 CARLI library directors sampled completed the web-based survey.  This represented a 53.1% response rate.

This study investigated the information needs and impediments to access to information among the sandwich and part-time students of two public universities in Ogun State, Nigeria. The two universities are Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) and Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED). Questionnaire was used to gather data from 5117 respondents out of 5575 students sampled. The study identified that both male and female sexes pursue part-time/sandwich courses due to one reason or another. This paper examined the issues in citing internet resources using APA style. It was discovered that without citation, there may be no other means of obtaining clarification or additional information about a write up. It was therefore recommended that sources used as evidence in writing a piece of information should be clearly cited and referenced accordingly; only works cited in-text should be included in the reference list; there is also the urgent need for writers and information users on the internet to acquire the basic skills necessary for citing internet resources in line with acceptable styles or formats.

The research objective is to discover the user satisfaction with library resources and services in Nigerian Agricultural Research Institutes (NARIs) In conducting this study, the survey research design was adopted with User Satisfaction with Library Resources and Services Questionnaire (USLRSQ) and structured interview as major instruments for data collection. The questionnaire was administered on 340 researchers from the entire 14 agricultural research institute in Nigeria. The overall response rate was 73.5%.
