Government Documents and the Center for Digital Research in the Humanities at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Libraries are pleased to announce the release of a World Wide Web site, entitled The Treaty of Fort Laramie with Sioux, etc., 1851: Revisiting the document found in Kappler's Indian Affairs: Laws and Treaties.

This treaty was an important transaction formed by the federal government with a number of prominent American Indian tribes of the Great Plains. Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to assist music selectors at academic and public libraries by providing resources useful for selecting popular sound recordings, while emphasizing the ongoing need for monitoring trends and new releases in popular music. Design/methodology/approach – This paper identifies key resources to aid the selection of popular music recordings, beginning with the challenges unique to popular music. The resources are divided into four major sections: online tools, print tools, periodical tools, and staying current. Question: Is there a means of assessing research impact beyond citation analysis?

Setting: The case study took place at the Washington University School of Medicine Becker Medical Library.

Method: This case study analyzed the research study process to identify indicators beyond citation count that demonstrate research impact.

Main Results: The authors discovered a number of indicators that can be documented for assessment of research impact, as well as resources to locate evidence of impact. Published Works

The University of Connecticut Libraries was one of five Phase 1 libraries that participated in the ClimateQUAL® survey in 2007. Once the quantitative and qualitative results were received, the Libraries needed help understanding how to interpret the findings and respond. The Libraries turned to a library organizational development consultant for assistance with both interpreting the results and beginning to address them. The consultant designed a format for focus groups to provide anonymous but more detailed, experience-based information which helped the Libraries discover, understand and appropriately respond to the root causes of 'problem' areas indicated in the ClimateQUAL® Survey.
