National, state, and local standards guide education in what is taught in the classrooms today. A lack of resources is often a problem in teaching these standards, especially at the local level. The Sheldon third grade teachers needed resources to fulfill the teaching expectations about their local community. The purpose of this project was to develop a traveling trunk filled with primary and secondary resources to be used in the teaching of a social studies unit on the community of Sheldon. Environmental awareness is a pre-condition for environment-friendly behaviour and sustainable environment; proper awareness of environment related issues is therefore pertinent. This study examined awareness and accessibility of environmental information in Nigeria with specific reference to Warri Central Local Government Area of Delta state. Data were collected with a structured questionnaire from 140 respondents using the simple random sampling technique and analyzed with descriptive statistics. The results showed that many of the respondents are aware that soil erosion, oil spillage and pipeline vandalization are sources of environmental problems but they are not aware of the ecological impact of domestic activities like …

Interview questions were based on technological template (T-template) or technology evaluation list for staff. This paper reports the findings of a study on the perception of educational needs of librarians in selected academic libraries in Lagos State, Nigeria. The libraries include universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. The objectives of this study were to identify the level of digital applications in the critical operations of the libraries; the educational needs of the librarians in the digital environment, and the librarians' perceptions of the need for digital education. The paper presents the results of a survey of library and information science professionals working in various institutions in Pakistan. Their access to and use of the Internet were measured. Their attitude towards Internet and relationship of the attitude with some personal and Internet use related variables were also explored. The findings reveal that the participants’ attitude was very positive towards Internet based facilities and services. They found these tools very useful in their professional and personal work. This study investigated the use of library catalogue in Dhaka University Library. The study employed descriptive research methods and a questionnaire to generate the data. The analysis revealed that 61.38 percent (178) of the users were aware of library catalogue, and 53.45 percent (155) had never used the catalogue. The study also showed that 71.03 percent (206) encountered difficulties in using the catalogue because of lack of proper education and, as a result, 69.31 percent (201) of the users did browsing/reading through the shelves to locate books. The purpose of this study was to identify attitudes of faculty members toward collaboration with librarians working in the campus library. The study relates these attitudes to selected independent variables. A questionnaire was distributed to all faculty members in Zarka Private University. A total of 114 responses were gathered. The questionnaire included 22 attitudinal statements. The results of this study indicate that most of the respondents had positive attitudes toward collaboration with librarians. After one year of providing virtual reference service through an instant messaging (IM) service, Binghamton University (BU) Libraries, under the purview of its Digital Reference Committee (DRC), undertook a study of collected session transcripts. The goals of this work were to determine who was using the IM service and why; if staffing for the service was adequate and met our in-person reference standards; and if improvements to the Libraries' existing reference services were needed. There has been a growing realization that academic libraries need to change to serve a new generation of learners and researchers. Efforts to enhance the "Main Library" on campus with extended hours, coffee shops, and information commons have created modern, user-friendly environments that support changing student needs and expectations.  Generally fewer resources have been given to upgrading smaller branch libraries.
