Entrepreneurship and technology education are central issues in the present state of dwindling national economies. Information is the bedrock for national development, and information professionals are agents in using this information tool to promote entrepreneurship. This paper discusses the roles of Information professionals in promoting entrepreneurial and technology education to address the high rate of unemployment and declining economic state in Nigeria. The paper also highlights the concept of entrepreneurship and technology education in Nigeria, information professionals and technology education enhancement, actualizing vision 2020 as a road map for transforming Nigeria into an economic giant.

The paper evaluates chemistry journals at IIT Kharagpur discover with statistical measures a better way to manage journal collections in the library. It attempts to discover the impact of each journal at the local level. Questionnaire data coupled with citation statistics from SciFinder were used for the evaluation of chemistry journals. Comparison Of Web Of Science And Scopus Impact Factors Of Indian Journals, Aragudige Nagaraja, M. Vasanthakumar

Database coverage of Indian journals in Web of Science and Scopus were identified. Impact factor from Journal Citation Reports 2008. SCImago journal rank indicator of Indian journals was tabulated and compared. It was found that Scopus covers more impact factor-tracked Indian journals, while Web of Science covers 45 Indian journals with impact factor.

A survey of student use of Hezekiah Oluwasanmi Library was carried out with five hundred students as respondents. While 95 percent of respondents use the library, those who do not have various reasons for it. It also showed that of all the library materials, indexes/abstracts, microfilms, and government publications are the least used library resources. Recommendations for improving the use of library resources are made.

The study explored the extent of open access, institutional repositories, and scholarly publishing of academic librarians. Population of the study was 67. It comprised academic librarians in University of Nigeria (50), Enugu State University of Technology (6), Michael Okpara University of Agriculture (6), and Anambra State University (5). 52 (77. 61%) copies of the questionnaire were returned and 45 (86.54%) were found usable. Data were collected by a structured questionnaire. The questionnaire contained 38 questions which were divided into six sections. The study investigated the size and quality of information sources and the use of library services in the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike library. The case study research design was used for the study. The population was made up of 1,000 library-registered users in the university library. A sample size of 200 was selected using the simple random sampling technique. The study concluded that the independent variables of size and quality have influence and significant relationship with the use of library services. The study recommended that the information sources be improved in terms of size and quality.

This paper investigated the professional visibility of Nigerian library association (NLA). The descriptive survey method was adopted for this study. Data collected and analyzed was based on 200 non-librarians in Abia state and 25 librarians who are registered members of NLA in the Abia state chapter. 68.5% of the non-librarians whose knowledge of NLA was explored have not heard or know of NLA, while 76% of the librarians, whose opinions were gathered, agreed that NLA is not visible in Nigeria. The study investigated the recognition of library terms and concepts used by undergraduate students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology students, Ogbomoso, Nigeria. 2,039 questionnaires were analysed. Four hypotheses were tested using Analysis of variance (ANOVA). The study revealed that the variables; age, gender, use of library, visitation to library, educational level, and familiarity with library before admission into the university were all significantly positive (P<0.01) thus influencing the extent of awareness of the respondents to the library terms, and concepts. Various recommendations such as librarians to always try to define terms, concepts, and jargon used for the first time, request for feedbacks from students either monthly, quarterly or bi-annually, and try to make access and retrieval of library resources more efficient and user friendly by using the language that users understand.

This study evaluates the book availability as well as the performance measure of the Walter Sisulu University (WSU) Library and determines the levels of satisfaction among its users. Attention was focused on four parameters of performance measure, namely: Acquisition (Pa), Circulation (Pc), Users' performance at the catalogue and success in obtaining materials from the shelf (Pu), and, the Library administrative operation (Pm), all of which were independently measured. This study investigates the relative importance of newspaper information, purposes for consultation, types of information sought, the extent and satisfaction derived from the use of library newspaper services, and problems that might constrain students from visiting the newspaper sections of Olabisi Onabanjo University library, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State, Nigeria.
