The present research has been carried out to investigate the influential factors upon commercializing research results in Islamic Azad University of Behbahan. The population includes 116 university professors among whom 92 are selected and studied through random sampling considering Morgan’s table. This paper examines the use of community-based library and information services in Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State. Descriptive statistics was used to analyze data using frequency, tables and percentages. The instruments used in collecting data were a combination of questionnaire, interview and observation. Three hundred (300) copies of questionnaire were administered to randomly selected respondents from ten (10) communities (Afon, Aboto-oja, Ballah, Alapa, Laduba, Ogbondoroko, Olowu oko, Lasoju, Igbo Aran and Elebute) in Asa Local Government and two hundred and sixty-eight (268) copies representing (89.3%) were returned and found useful. This study was carried out in order to determine Internet access and usage by the undergraduate students of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Nigeria. A review of literature was done on information and communication technologies (ICTs) and its importance in education. This paper focuses on the computer and ICT skills of secondary school teachers in Ota, Ogun state of Nigeria. The purpose was to find out if the teachers were computer and ICT literate and to examine if they employ computers and ICT in their teaching activities. Eighty copies of a self designed questionnaire were administered to teachers in four secondary schools, out of which sixty eight was completed, returned and found usable. This paper examined newspapers and magazines as essential sources of information for students in Covenant University. A survey method was adopted for this research, and the instrument used for data collection was observation, and a self developed questionnaire. A total of 250 copies of the questionnaires were administered to students, only 215 were retrieved and used for the analysis.

The purpose of this study was to measure the job satisfaction of library professionals serving in public sector universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Spector’s Job Satisfaction (JSS) scale was used to examine the job satisfaction of respondents’. A total of 49 responses were collected and analyzed. The result shows that although library professionals working in these institutions were slightly satisfied with their nature of work, they were dissatisfied with supervision, benefits, promotion. Revision of service structure, promotion policies, improvement in academic qualification and advance training were suggested by the researchers.

In this study an attempt is made to investigate the scholarly communications in College & Research Libraries journal during the period of 1997-2011 and to study the key dimensions of its publication trends. For the analysis of the study 15 volumes containing 90 issues have been taken up for evaluation. Necessary bibliometric measures are applied to analyse different publication parameters. This desk research involved review of available literature on funding of Nigerian Academic Libraries (NALs). The aim was to ascertain the existing sources of funds for these libraries, re-appraise the available funding strategies and provide practicable alternatives. Findings show that the surfeit of ideas, captured in literature, has not positively changed the sorry financial state of academic libraries in Nigeria. As a result, these libraries still rely on sporadic but insufficient financial allocations from their parent institutions and periodic disbursements from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TET-Fund). The purpose of the study is to empirically investigate the relationship between the quality of services provided by the library and the level of user satisfaction from these services. The data was collected with self administered questionnaires from the SCEE NUST (School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, National University of Science and Technology) library users. The study used regression analysis to analyze the data. Results show a significant positive relationship between library services quality and user satisfaction. The article also provides some practical implications based on the results. Limitations and future research directions are also mentioned.

The study provides an analysis of development/enhancement of library practices and its relation with competencies acquired through professional trainings. It also focuses to describe the planning, design, implementation and evaluation of capacity building measures of professional library training as well as to identify loopholes of such trainings in the Pakistan.

The present paper analyses the acknowledgements appearing in the research articles and short communications in Annals of Library and Information Studies covering the period 1999-2012. The acknowledgements included in this journal are further analysed in order to find out frequency of their occurrence, types, number of acknowledgements per paper, highly acknowledged individuals, and so on. The results show that slightly more than 20% of communications contain acknowledgements and an average acknowledgement per item is 1.49. The acknowledgements are of composite nature comprising of moral support, technical support, access to facilities, financial support and Peer Interactive Communication type. The most common …
