The objectives of this study were to describe the information-seeking pattern of primary care doctors and to examine the present position of clinical information availability at remote government health facilities in the District of Multan, Punjab, Pakistan. This paper appraised the utilization of journals by undergraduate students of Babcock University, Nigeria. The study population comprised 400 level students of 2012/2013 academic session totaling 1359. All 400 level students were selected because they had completed their final year research (project) work for the award of Bachelors’ degrees in different areas of study. This paper has made attempt to study the activities and reasons for using Social Networking Sites by the Post Graduate students and research scholars of Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak, India. A self structured questionnaire was distributed among the target population and primary data gathered through questionnaire were analysed and discussed in accordance with the objectives of the study. It was found that majority of the respondents to be aware and making use of such applications in their research work. The study also reveals that Facebook is the most popular SNSs among the all categories of students and research scholars.

This article details the utilization of student workers to conduct patron population surveys of library computer banks and study rooms at the Clark Memorial Library at Shawnee State University in Portsmouth Ohio. The number of patrons was counted by student employees at hourly intervals over three ten-day periods, garnering 9,295 separate observations with little interruption in day-to-day work flow. The survey resulted in a far more detailed portrait of library usage than is possible with simple gate statistics. Senior non-academic staff are responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of activities within the university. The present study is citation analysis of articles appeared in the online journal, Information Research: an international electronic journal (IR) during the period 2008-2012. The maximum number of articles (57) as well as maximum number of citations (2324) was published in 2008. The average number of citations per article was 43.21. Also, the maximum numbers of articles (92) were having citations between 26-50. As for as form of citations is concerned, Journals were the most preferred form of citations by IR scholars while writing their papers. This study assessed the information literacy (IL) instruction perceptions and practices of faculty at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences in Tanzania. An online survey was distributed to all faculty members in five schools and one institute at MUHAS (235 in total) from 2011 to 2012, with a response rate of (34.5 percent). The study findings show a general support for IL development, and its importance in enabling students to do library-based research. Collaborative Research In Economics In Pakistan: The Case Of Pakistan Development Review From 1973 To 2009, Sajjad Ullah Jan, Mumtaz Ali Anwar

ABSTRACT

The pattern of collaborative authorship (extent of international collaboration and degree of collaboration) and institutional affiliation in the papers of the Pakistan Development Review were determined by using bibliometric techniques. The sample used was the papers published during 1973-2009. Of the 1627 papers, 723 (44.44%) were the result of collaborative effort. International collaboration was observed only in 94 papers. The degree of collaboration was 0.44 as a whole and the year-wise calculated degree ranged between 0.13 and 0.76. The year 2009 was the most productive year in terms of collaborative research.

This paper presents the findings of a bibliometric study one of the renowned journal “Library Trends” into consideration with an aim to analyse the contributions of the author and the citations cited by various articles appeared in it. The present study comprises of 206 articles published in the said journal from 2007-2012. Highest number (51) of articles is published in 2007-08. Majority of authors preferred to publish their research results in individual authorship mode 122 (59.22%). The majority of articles 63 (30.58%) have the length of 16-20 pages. The highest number of contributions with citations between 11-20 is 48 (23.30%).

It helps to monitor growth of literature and patterns of research.
