The present study was undertaken to assess academic performances of faculty members of Mother Teresa Women’s University and its Affiliated Colleges. Simple random sampling method has been applied in order to assess the faculty members’ perception about the academic performances. Questionnaire was a data collection tool. A total of 290 questionnaires were distributed among users and 254 duly filled in questionnaires were received, thus resulting into a response rate of 87.59 per cent. Abstract
This study examined the information literacy level among secondary school students in Ilorin. This study adopted the disproportionate stratified random sampling techniques. The total population for this study 1958 students. The data for the study was collected through structured questionnaires which were distributed randomly to 210 students. However, only 192 copies of the questionnaire were properly filled and returned for analysis and thus form the basis as sample for this study (N=192). The findings of the study revealed that more than half of the respondents can identify lack of knowledge in a subject area. The study also revealed that …

This paper presents the analysis of core journals and subject-wise coverage of journals in the field of Vascular Diseases in Children for the period from 2012 to 2016 in the MEDLINE data which are covered in the Pubmed. The purpose of this study is to ascertain the core journals and its subject-wise coverage of journals in the field of Vascular Diseases in Children. The study is a survey of librarians’ perception towards collaborative research in South Eastern Nigeria. Four research questions guided the study, the study adopted descriptive survey method. The population of the study consists of 242 librarians in federal and state university in South East Nigeria. A scientometric analysis was conducted on 2835 articles published in the Journal of Bioscience and Bioengineering from 2007-2016, downloaded from Web of Science on 12.03.2017 and analysed using Bibexcel and MS Excel. The study reveals that : Year 2009 had seen a maximum of (709, 25.01%) articles; volume 108 is most productive; RGR decreased from 1.00 in 2009 to 0.08 in 2016. This study was intended to investigate law reports exploitation in a faculty of law library, University of Benin, Edo State, Nigeria. A descriptive survey design was adopted in carrying out the study. In order to achieve the stated objective, research questions and hypothesis were developed to guide the study. A total of one hundred and eighteen (118) copies of the structured questionnaire were distributed among the law students, one hundred and four(104) were properly filled and retrieved making up an 88.1% respondence rate. Data was analyzed using frequency tables, simple percentages and chi-square.

The study assessed professional development programmes available for Polytechnic Library staff in Ghana, and examined their prospects and challenges. The survey method was employed and quantitative approach was adopted for the study which involved only professional Library and para-professional staff of the Polytechnics in Ghana. Out of 80 copies of questionnaire sent out, 72 were retrieved representing a response rate of 90%. The study revealed that most of the staff were aware of the term “professional development”. Objectives: Cigarette smoking remains a major cause of death in China. Are health sciences libraries in China currently providing awareness, advocacy, or research support for the societal benefits of smoking reduction? Methods: Following institutional review board approval, Library contacts for Chinese schools of medicine, public health, and pharmacy were identified. A bilingual online survey was constructed to obtain respondents’ demographic detail and answers to questions about library resources and services that constitute academic awareness, advocacy, curriculum, or research support about tobacco and smoking. Access to relevant health information is essential for helping people to take good decisions to enhance their health and well-being. The research examined the importance, level and sources of access to health information for patients with chronic diseases in two Federal Government Teaching Hospitals in South East Nigeria. The research is a cross-sectional survey that used questionnaire to collect data. Sample was 784 patients in two Federal Government Teaching Hospitals in South East Nigeria. Using a combination of bibliometrics and social network analysis methods, co-authorship network of iMetrics was studied in the time spam of 1978-2014 and top researches in the field were identified. Then, the relationship between these researchers’ productivity, performance, and centrality indicators was investigated. Out of 5944 studied records, researchers such as Leydesdorff L, Glanzel W and Rousseau R gained the higher centrality measures. There was a significant relationship between productivity and performance. Based on multivariate regression analysis, there was a significant relationship between degree centrality and betweenness centrality on one hand and productivity on the other hand.
