The use of Open Educational Resources (OER) is becoming increasingly widespread in higher education institutions as the ease of use, equitable access, and the cost-free availability makes OER a viable option for classroom materials. Incorporating OER into the curriculum can be both beneficial and challenging for faculty. Because librarians are skilled and efficient in finding adequate resources to supplement learning, they prove to be an asset when striving to implement an OER initiative in the institution. During Constitution Week, Kennesaw State University Libraries organized a series of engaging events from September 16 to 20. The festivities kicked off with a faculty panel discussing the 25th Amendment and presidential succession, featuring insights from political science faculty. Voter registration events were held on both Kennesaw and Marietta campuses, allowing students to register, check their status, and interact with historical figures, and most importantly a therapy dog and library mascot, Summer the Corgi. Two library professionals, a technical services librarian and an Archivist, describe their workflows during a system migration to OCLC Worldshare Management Systems from multiple existing systems at Lincoln Memorial University Carnegie Vincent Library. The migration was difficult at times and had some unexpected outcomes, but the end result was excellent for the students and the faculty of the university. The librarian and archivist provide suggestions to help other librarians and archivists during the process of a migration. Challenges And Opportunities In Providing Academic Library Services To Incarcerated Higher Education Students: A Case Study From A Tennessee State Prison, Ryan Yoakum, Caroline Fleming

This case study describes the Belmont University Library’s partnership with a Tennessee men’s prison to provide access to higher education. The program has led to challenges relating to communication, circu-lation, cataloging, and collection development. These library services are necessary to provide students with access to information not only for their academic endeavors, but also for their own well-being and growth. This paper explores possible solutions to the information deficit of incarcerated students and how the library can support the needs of an underserved population.
