This report provides an overview of the Libraries’ impact in teaching information literacy. Our Teaching and Learning Philosophy describes our student-focused approach and acknowledges “learning and teaching moments occur in a wide variety of contexts, including one-on-one reference consultations, while working on assignments, in the classroom, while considering personal and academic decisions.” Librarians partner with teaching faculty to design research assignments, collaborate on strategic scheduling of library instruction sessions, and cultivate collections to support student learning.

This slide deck is for a workshop provided for students new to systematic and scoping reviews. It uses the metaphor of making a peach cobbler to illustrate the steps of creating a systematic or scoping review. It includes a few review questions, a link to evaluating the presenter's instruction (Which should be changed for any derivatives), and a link to a peach cobbler recipe.

Community college libraries are busy places, where no two days are the same. In the midst of the busyness of the day-to-day work, there is value in taking time to reflect. The act of writing this chapter is one way of taking time to reflect on the literature produced by community college library professionals over the last thirty years. It is the author’s hope that this review will produce a picture of some of the stories of community college libraries and how they strive to serve their students.

Students start by working individually to develop subtopics and areas of interest from their original topic or research question. Objectives: Students will feel comfortable and will be successful searching for books on the library website. Students will successfully navigate call numbers, the stacks, check out, and holds.

Suitable Audience: Any classes which make significant use of/requires physical sources. This lesson has been used with Art History classes but could be adapted for others.
