The evolution of monograph assessment in Musselman Library resulted in a model that sustains concurrent assessment initiatives large and small, as well as time-bound and ongoing, with the purpose of shaping collections in support of the academic and creative interests at Gettysburg College. "I am not a developer" is a phrase I say more than I want. However, programming is something I've wanted to learn for a long time. When patrons began asking for text message notifications for circulating items, I took on the challenge to try to learn something new, and hacked together a basic text notification system that is both affordable and serves patron needs. Using the narrative of this tool's creation as a foundation, this presentation will provide resources to get started in web development for Sierra using SQL, PHP, and Twilio.

In the past two weeks, I have become much more comfortable at the Research Help Desk. I have been asked a whole variety of questions, from printing to citation to looking for books and articles. She believes that that the Framework is one among many documents adopted by the Association of College and Research Libraries that academic librarians can and should use to promote information literacy.
