This study investigated the effect of cement dust emitted from Dangote cement factory, Ibese, Ogun State, Nigeria on the environment and human health. Soil and plant samples were collected from six sampling points at different distances i.e. inside the factory kiln (IFK), the factory gate (TFG ? 50 m); Abule Oke (AOK ? 100 m), Maria (MAR ? 200 m), and Ibese (IBE ? 300m), based on the prevailing wind direction. The study aims are to investigate the people perception on flood response, flood awareness and information dissemination during 2011 flood, to discuss the proper information needed for flood preparedness, and to understand drinking water preferences during emergency periods. A question-naire survey was conducted to collect information on flood awareness and preparedness from the people residing in a suburb of Bangkok that was one of the most severely affected areas. This study measured the impact of an awareness campaign to reduce food waste on campus. Information cues were installed at strategic locations in a canteen to engage university students in food waste prevention. Stickers with food ordering tips were placed in front of the food vendors. Information cards about resource use in food production were placed on dining tables to remind students to finish what they had ordered. In this research, ground penetrating radar (GPR) was used to determine the volumetric soil water content (VSWC) of a loamy soil. The GPR was set up in the ground wave fixed offset me-thod using both 400 and 900 MHz frequency antennae. By estimating the relative dielectric per-mittivity of the soils, these values were converted to the VSWC by Topp's equation. Marine garbage reception facilities can effectively prevent marine pollution when adequately implemented together with other management tools. This paper analyzes the garbage manage-mentpolicy based on transactions between shipping companies and the seaport. Multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was used to scrutinize the influence of transactional colla-boration (independent variable) on the different reasons for using GRF of the shipping firms (dependent variable). The study indicates that the motivations of ship operators (identified as laws and regulations, navigation limitations, partnerships, competitiveness and environmentalconsciousness), varies depending on frequency of transaction during the year. This paper describes an assessment of the carbon footprint (CF) of a silver ring, together with an attempt to measurematerial and energy consumption. The boundary of analyzing CF was defined as Business to Business (B2B). All primary data were obtained from a survey of the case study factory. Acquisition of raw material (silver) was the main GHG contribution to the overall CF and was thus considered as a CF hotspot. Diffusion dialysis (DD) equipped with anion exchange membranes (AEMs) is used as an effective tool to recover acidfrom various types of waste acid solutions. The aim of this study was to investigate the possibility of using the DD process to recover sulfuric acid (HsSO4) from the acidic wastewater from an automotive battery plant. This study aimed to detect the genotoxiceffects of glyphosate on aquatic plants by the RAPD-PCR technique. Native aquatic plants were screened for herbicide testing. The aquatic plant amounts and species were counted and a comparison was made between natural ponds and paddy fields for a total of 17 sites; paddy fields (site 1-10), ponds beside paddy fields (site 11-14), and natural ponds (site 15-17). The construction project for the developed area in Kaeng Khoi District, Saraburi Province, Thailand, drafted by Chulalongkorn University has raised various concerns over environmental impacts, particularly relating to public health and air quality. In order to investigate impacts of this project, air quality sampling was conducted in Tan Diew Sub-district, Huai Haeng Sub-district, Cham Pak Paew Sub-district and some surrounding sites of Chulalongkorn developed area by gravimetric method using a high volume air sampling machine. Two types of particulate matter including total suspended particulate matter (TSP) and particulate matter < 10 µm (PM10) were continuously monitored during all 3 seasons for a study period of 3 years in order to compare the effect of seasonal variation on the amount of particulate matter generated in each study area, to study the correlation between TSP and PM10, and finally to identify other causal factors related to particulate levels. Results from this study indicated that TSP and PM10 both reached the highest in winter followed by summer and appeared to be at the lowest level during the rainy season. In addition, causal factors such as wind direction and human activities also influenced particulate levels in each study area.

Knowledge of the concentration of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAHs) in urban soils remains insufficient in developing countries like Nigeria despite their toxic effects and suspected human carcinogens, mutagens and endocrine disruption. This study aimed to determine the concentration of PAHs in soil of three dumpsites in Abeokuta metropolis, Ogun State, Nigeria. Concentrations of individual PAHs were determined using Gas Chromatography Flame Ioni-zation Detector (GC-FID). This study purposes to determine pesticides of carbamate and organophosphate group foundin soil, rice, and water samples from rice paddy fields in Village number (Moo) 4, Banpraw Sub-district, Banna District in Nakhon Nayok Province. The sampling sites were selected in 27 agri- cultural areas using Global Positioning System (GPS). It was found that 42.3 % of all surveyed farmers had used pesticides in their rice paddy fields between June 2014 to January 2015. Monitoring of ambient air quality yields data typically presented as time series plots, tables of summarized statistical values, or other representations. This paper presents an alternative way to visualizing air quality monitoring data by presenting concentrations in the form of a calendar, offering a familiar way for reader to identify air quality trends on various time scales(daily, weekly, or monthly). Log coffins have been discovered in caves and rockshelters in the Pang Ma Pha district, Mae Hong Son province, Northwestern Thailand. Most are made of teak wood. Many researchers have used the 14C method to determine their age. However, 14C cannot provide as precise a ca-lendar age as dendrochronology. In this paper, we therefore applied dendrochronology analysis to a number of teak log coffins at the Ban Rai Rockshelter to establish a floating chronology and to cross-date the coffins relative to each other. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Participatory Geographic Information System (PGIS) process as implemented through the Joint Management of Protected Areas (JoMPA) project. This article analyzes the process of local land use planning using PGIS through demarcation of special use zones. A highly intense bloom of the nitrogen fixing Cyanobacteria Trichodesmium erythraeum(~7,000 filaments l-1) was observed during April 2013 (for a period of 5 days) in the Andaman Sea, at Lat.10°-13°N and Long. 93°-95°E.This is the first report of this bloom in the open waters of this region. Atmospheric temperature at the time ranged from 27 to 30.5 °C, sea surface temperature ranged from 29 to 34 °C, and salinity values ranged from 32.5 to 34 psu. However, there was no significant variation in pH (8.1-8.3), and DO concentrations ranged from 4.7 to 5.5 mg L-1during the studyperiod. Phosphate values ranged …
