An Analysis Of Citizen Attitudes Towards The Establishment Of Bus Service In The City Of Roswell, New Mexico, University Of New Mexico Bureau Of Business And Economic Research

This report analyzes public readiness and support for a municipal public transit system in Roswell, New Mexico. Based on a sample of 595 households, the study finds that while 47% of residents indicate they would use the bus service, potential ridership significantly increases to 62% among families with handicapped members who heavily rely on the service to solve severe transportation issues. Furthermore, a clear community consensus emerged regarding public financing, with 72% approving the use of city funds for capital expenditures and a 54.6% majority supporting municipal tax increases to cover daily operations.

This report evaluates the socioeconomic and commercial feasibility of establishing a centralized handcrafted wood furniture manufacturing enterprise across north central New Mexico. Conducted in tandem with the U.S. Forest Service, the study designs a multi-phased business model ("Mountain Village Crafts, Inc.") that leverages a decentralized rural artisan labor force backed by a centralized processing and marketing hub to demonstrate strong profit-sharing capabilities and an estimated post-tax return on investment between 8% and 23%.

This thesis views the efforts of American oil interests to participate in the exploitation of Middle East oil resources in the 192Os as a point of departure in United States foreign policy. In its opposition to official involvement in the affairs of private business, the United States Government insisted that American oil companies negotiate directly with the British Government dominated companies which controlled the Near and Middle East. By placing the execution of its international oil policy under the control of private industry, the United States Government surrendered its capacity to conduct diplomacy with regard to a vital strategic resource. …
