The purpose of this study was to identify the differences in self-regulated learning of male and female students in Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Muhammadiyah in Yogyakarta, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This quantitative study using comparative method involving 414 students consisting of 226 male students and 188 female students as sample. The sample selection used Stratified Random Sampling technique. The instrument was the Self-regulated Learning Scale. To identify the differences in self-regulated learning of male and female students, Independent Sample Test were used. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Roda Pelangi game to improve elementary school students’ fairness character. The research method was an experiment with a nonequivalent control group design type. The research instruments were: interview guidelines; observation guidelines; and Fairness Character Measurement Scale. The sample were twelve fourth grade students of Permata Ummat Trenggalek Integrated Islamic Elementary School that was chosen through purposive sampling. The significance score obtained based on data analysis using independent sample t-test was 0.047<0.05. The result showed Roda Pelangi game can improve elementary school students’ fairness character. Based on these results, it recommended: school counselor can use Roda Pelangi game in the guidance and counseling service process, especially to improve elementary school students’ fairness character; further researchers can use Roda Pelangi game to examine other variables and at other school levels using other research designs such as true experiment or guidance and counseling action research.

Written, oral, and practical flight tests, along with challenging flying tasks, place pilot trainees in stressful situations. The initial goals of this research were to determine assessment tools for identifying pilot trainees who might perform poorly in stressful flight testing environments, and measure the efficacy of a test anxiety (TA) workshop on anxiety levels and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) knowledge assessments of pilot trainees. The researchers determined that: Scholastic Achievement Test (SAT) scores marginally predict facilitating anxiety levels, and FAA knowledge tests, taken in authentic testing environments, correlate significantly with debilitating anxiety, facilitating anxiety, and FAA exam scores. Context: All 50 states and the District of Columbia have enacted laws governing concussion management and education. These concussion laws, featuring common tenets regarding removal from play, return to play, and concussion education, have shaped school and district policies.

Objective: To evaluate the strategies commonly used to implement concussion laws at the school and district levels, as reported by certified athletic trainers (ATs).

Design: Qualitative study.

Concussions in college students can lead to a number of academic, physical, and emotional consequences. This project involved training college staff—including residence hall advisors—about the signs, symptoms, and risks related to concussions. The importance of training in concussion recognition and management is discussed in relation to campus staff’s responsibilities. A sample training model that can be replicated on college and university campuses is presented, along with implications for college students and housing personnel.

Hearing children of deaf parents (C/Kodas) comprise a unique group that carries experiences as interpreters, protectors, and advocates. Kodas also have distinct experiences family dynamics and are bilingual and bicultural. Consequently, Kodas have complex identities and related identity development processes with few places to find support. There is a need for culturally sensitive and informed programs to create spaces for Kodas to process complexities and connect with others similar to them. This qualitative study explores school counselors' experiences of the counseling relationship with students when also fulfilling the role of anti-bullying specialist. School counselors who also serve students as the anti-bullying specialist embrace a dual role with students. The purpose of this qualitative research study was to explore and expose the needs of sexually exploited women and children. The participants were recruited from a few non-profit agencies in the Inland Empire area. This study found one of the most underlying challenge facing the participants when working with sexually exploited victims was the unavailability of resources, particularly, shortage of transitional housing for them. The opioid epidemic has been declared a national emergency that resulted in nearly 50,000 opioid overdose deaths last year alone. Counselors can and should be meaningfully involved in response. This session will present current information about the opioid crisis and the addictive process generally, and then specifically focus on opioid addiction, treatment and recovery.
