This report shares the findings from an action research project conducted on behalf of Global Partnership for Education’s (GPE) Education Out Loud (EOL) programme by the Management for Development Foundation (MDF) and the Australian Council for Education Research (ACER) Consortium, in its capacity as global learning partner (GLP). The project involved working directly with three organisations (grantees) in receipts of EOL funds, across five GPE countries. Family Communication is an inherently value-laden class. When students walk into the classroom, some of them come with a very negative view of family, whereas others walk in with an extremely narrow view of family. By prioritizing and facilitating the importance of multiple definitions of families, instructors can move through more complex topics over the course of the semester knowing that students have an understanding of why defining family is important—even if they are hesitant to change their definition. • About 96% of the grainbelt had adequate vegetative groundcover (more than 50%) to prevent wind erosion in December 2023.
• In the northern half of the grainbelt, a larger-than-average area has 51–60% groundcover, which is expected to decrease to below 50% over the summer.
• Just under 4% of the grainbelt (553,000 ha) had less than 50% groundcover, which is inadequate to prevent wind erosion. West Midlands Ag Soil Zone had the highest risk of wind erosion and 11.4% of this farmland had inadequate groundcover.

The theme of this volume is generational trends in language change, with an emphasis on the Baby Boomer to Gen X transition as an important period of time. Many studies have found sharp changes in vowel systems in communities after the Baby Boomer Generation on the East Coast (Thiel and Dinkin 2020) and in the Midwest (Nesbitt 2021). Assessing the impact of exchange rate pass-through (ERPT) on inflation is a crucial concern for policymakers in both developed and developing economies. The study evaluates both short- and long-term pass-through effects, shedding light on the relationships between the exchange rate movements and inflation rates in Bangladesh. This study examines the role that local tax revenues and spending played in migration to cities in the Intermountain West from 2011 to 2020. Decades of research on migration to the region have examined migration responses to natural amenities and socioeconomic characteristics of cities, counties, and states in the region. However, despite prior findings’ indications that local fiscal factors play as important of a part in migration decisions as local amenities do, little research has examined the role that local taxes and spending, in addition to natural amenities, have had on migration decisions in the Intermountain West. The Book of Mormon has been studied for its thematic, literary, and theological content using almost exclusively qualitative methods (e.g., Turley, 2019; Morrill, 2017). However, scholars have conducted little analysis comparing it to the Bible, even though those who view it as scripture consider it directly comparable in purpose. (e.g., The Book of Mormon, 2015; McConkie, 1985). The present study applies quantitative linguistic analysis to statistically derive the distinctive language from the two volumes of scripture and identifies the key themes and language from the two books. Ideophones – imitative words using the stream of speech to simulate/depict the rise and fall of sensory perceptions and emotions and temporal experiences of completiveness, instantaneousness, and repetitiveness – have been characterized as semantically empty and context dependent. The research reported here tested a simple schematic for the semantic categories of Pastaza Kichwa ideophones by tracking neurological responses to ideophones categorized as VISUAL, MOTION, and SOUND. Seventeen native speakers of Pastaza Kichwa listened to audio clips of ideophones extracted from sentential contexts. We manually digitized salt marsh pools on 12 salt marshes in Maine (given as Name and corresponding ID number (see ID in Attributes)) in 2009 and 2021: Scarborough (1), Webhannet (2), Spurwink (3), Marshall Point (4), York River (5), Ogunquit (6), Brave Boat Harbor (7), Cousins River (8), Biddeford Pool (9), Little River (10), Goosefare Brook (11), Gooch’s Beach (12). This paper investigates individuals who are proficient in two languages (bilinguals) and the speeds at which bilinguals process cognates (words with comparable form and meaning across languages). This paper cites two ongoing experiments: The Language Identification (LID) task and the Self-Paced Listening (SPL) task. Findings from the LID suggest that phonological overlap in cognates facilitates bilingual language processing speeds, when cognates are presented in isolation. Findings from the SPL suggest that syntactic overlap in cognates also facilitates bilingual language processing speeds, when cognates are presented in sentences. Native American faculty in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (NAF-STEM) disciplines are historically underrepresented. Creating inclusive academia for Indigenous people that typically live and thrive in rural communities requires insights into their personal, relational, and collective experiences. This study was guided by the Six Rs: relationship, respect, responsibility, relevance, representation, and reciprocity, and was informed by Indigenous Research Methodologies. Twelve NAF-STEM from tribal colleges and non-tribal institutions were asked to share their perspectives and experiences in seven Research Circles. Aboveground Biomass Density Estimation Using Deep Learning: Insight From Neon Ground-Truth Data And Simulated Gedi Waveform, Ashish Mahaur

Accurately estimating Aboveground Biomass Density (AGBD) is crucial for managing Earth's carbon cycle and informing climate strategies. NASA's GEDI mission advances global forest mapping, but traditional linear models often yield less reliable AGBD estimates. This study enhances AGBD estimation using deep learning models with NEON ground-truth data and simulated GEDI waveforms. We compared 1D CNNs, LSTMs, and pre-trained CNNs to traditional models. The ResNet152 model outperformed linear regression, achieving an R² of 0.68, demonstrating a 17% improvement. Our experiments also demonstrate the importance of large, diverse datasets, particularly for training deep learning models.

Background People incarcerated in jails are highly impacted by the opioid epidemic, and overdose education and naloxone distribution (OEND) is an effective strategy to reduce opioid overdose deaths. This study examines barriers and facilitators of fast-track OEND implementation within the jails in the Wave 1 Kentucky counties of the HEALing Communities Study during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Methods Meeting minutes with jail stakeholders were qualitatively coded using the Practical, Robust Implementation and Sustainability Model (PRISM) as the coding framework. The analysis highlighted the top barriers and facilitators to fast-track OEND implementation within the PRISM framework.

Objectives: This paper provides new estimates of disability prevalence for the archipelago and mainland-residing Puerto Rican populations ages 40 and above and compares disability by place of birth and place of residence to investigate drivers of middle and older age health.

Methods: Large nationally representative samples from 2013 to 2017 American Community Survey and Puerto Rico Community Survey data are used to estimate age-specific disability prevalence for archipelago-born/archipelago-residing, archipelago-born/mainland-residing, mainland-born/mainland-residing Puerto Ricans.

Results: Mainland-born/ mainland-residing Puerto Ricans have the lowest age-adjusted disability rates and archipelago-born/archipelago-residing Puerto Ricans have the highest rates. Differences in education explain part of this disparity.

This study explores Bhutanese youth's perceptions, communication preferences, and engagement with waste separation and management, focusing on students at Yangchenphu Higher Secondary School (YHSS) in Thimphu. Using a mixed-methods approach, it combines surveys of 185 students with interviews from teachers and administrators to examine knowledge, attitudes, behaviors, and systemic challenges. Findings reveal high awareness and positive attitudes among students, with social media and video content preferred for communication. However, barriers such as time constraints, inadequate infrastructure, and reliance on extrinsic motivators limit effectiveness. วิทยานิพนธ์เรื่องแนวทางการป้องกันการกระทำผิดเกี่ยวกับหนังสือเดินทาง ในประเทศไทย มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาสถานการณ์การกระทำผิดเกี่ยวกับหนังสือเดินทาง ในประเทศไทย พร้อมทั้งวิเคราะห์สภาพปัญหาด้านการป้องกันการกระทำผิดเกี่ยวกับ หนังสือเดินทาง เพื่อนำไปสู่แนวทางการป้องกันการกระทำผิดเกี่ยวกับหนังสือเดินทาง ในประเทศไทย โดยเป็นการศึกษาเชิงคุณภาพด้วยการวิจัยเอกสารและการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกจาก ผู้ให้ข้อมูลสำคัญ ประกอบด้วย เจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจตรวจคนเข้าเมือง ระดับบริหารและ ระดับปฏิบัติการ จำนวนทั้งสิ้น 23 ท่าน ผลการศึกษาพบว่า สถานการณ์การกระทำผิดเกี่ยวกับหนังสือเดินทาง ในประเทศไทยที่สำคัญ ได้แก่ 1) รูปแบบการกระทำผิดเกี่ยวกับหนังสือเดินทางที่พบได้ทั่วไป 2) การกระทำผิดของแรงงาน 4 สัญชาติ 3) การใช้หนังสือเดินทางไทยโดยมิชอบ 4) การใช้ประเทศไทยเป็นทางผ่านในการกระทำผิดเกี่ยวกับหนังสือเดินทาง 5) ผลกระทบของการกระทำผิดต่อประเทศไทย และ 6) แนวโน้มการกระทำผิดและพฤติกรรมปกปิดตัวตนในประเทศไทย และเมื่อวิเคราะห์สภาพปัญหาด้านการป้องกันการกระทำผิดเกี่ยวกับหนังสือเดินทางในประเทศไทย พบสภาพปัญหา 7 ด้าน ได้แก่ 1) มุมมองของรัฐ 2) กฎหมาย 3) การบังคับใช้กฎหมาย 4) งบประมาณ 5) เทคโนโลยี 6) ความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศ และ 7) บุคลากร ซึ่งภาพสะท้อนเหล่านี้นำไปสู่แนวทางการป้องกันการกระทำผิดเกี่ยวกับหนังสือเดินทางในประเทศไทย โดยผู้วิจัยเสนอให้สำนักงานตรวจคนเข้าเมืองจัดให้มีการฝึกอบรมแก่บุคลากร จัดตั้งศูนย์ข้อมูลหนังสือเดินทางอย่างเป็นทางการเพื่อสนับสนุนการทำงานแก่เจ้าหน้าที่ โดยเจ้าหน้าที่จะต้องมีความตระหนักในบทบาทหน้าที่ของตนอยู่เสมอ อีกทั้งการพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีด้านความปลอดภัย ที่เกี่ยวกับหนังสือเดินทางและงานตรวจคนเข้าเมืองจะช่วยเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพด้านความมั่นคง มากขึ้น รวมถึงการขยายผลการจับกุมที่จะช่วยป้องกันการกระทำความผิดซ้ำต่อไป

จากการศึกษามีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบปัจจัยการยื่นแบบแสดงรายการภาษีเงินได้บุคคลธรรมดาผ่านระบบออนไลน์ และสาเหตุที่ส่งผลให้ผู้เสียภาษียื่นแบบแสดงรายการภาษีเงินได้บุคคลธรรมดาแบบกระดาษ ณ สรรพากรพื้นที่สาขา 2) เพื่อเสนอแนะแนวทางทางการพัฒนาระบบการยื่นแบบฯ ผ่านระบบออนไลน์ และส่งเสริมให้ประชาชน ยื่นแบบแสดงรายการภาษีเงินได้บุคคลธรรมดาผ่านระบบออนไลน์ โดยการวิจัยนี้ใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงปริมาณ ซึ่งได้ใช้แบบสอบถามเป็นเครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บข้อมูล จากกลุ่มตัวอย่างผู้ยื่นแบบแสดงรายการภาษีเงินได้บุคคลธรรมดาในเขตพื้นที่จังหวัดสมุทรปราการ จำนวน 400 คน ตัวอย่างโดยใช้วิธีการสุ่มตัวอย่างโดยไม่ได้อาศัยทฤษฎีความน่าจะเป็น ด้วยวิธีการสุ่มแบบโควตา กลุ่มผู้เสียภาษียื่นแบบฯ ผ่านระบบออนไลน์ จำนวน 378 ตัวอย่าง และกลุ่มผู้เสียภาษียื่นแบบฯ กระดาษ จำนวน 22 ตัวอย่างผลการศึกษาพบว่า 1) ปัจจัยด้านประชากรและสังคมได้แก่ ช่วงอายุ อาชีพ 2) ปัจจัยด้านพฤติกรรมการยื่นแบบฯ 3) ปัจจัยด้านการยอมรับเทคโนโลยี ได้แก่การรับรู้ประโยชน์จากการใช้เทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศในเรื่องทำให้ได้รับเงินคืนภาษีเร็วขึ้นและทำให้รู้สึกประหยัดเวลา การรับรู้ความง่ายต่อการใช้งาน และ 4) ปัจจัยความสำเร็จของระบบสารสนเทศ ได้แก่ ปัจจัยด้านคุณภาพระบบ ปัจจัยด้านคุณภาพของข้อมูล ปัจจัยคุณภาพ ส่งผลต่อการเลือกวิธีการยื่นแบบแสดงรายการภาษีเงินได้บุคคธรรมดาแตกต่างกัน

การศึกษา “นโยบายการบริหารจัดการการทำงานของคนต่างด้าวที่เข้ามาถ่ายทำภาพยนตร์ต่างประเทศ ในประเทศไทย” มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษารายละเอียดของนโยบาย ปัญหาและอุปสรรคที่เกิดขึ้นในการปฏิบัติตามนโยบาย และเพื่อนำผลการศึกษามากำหนดแนวทางการส่งเสริมให้มีการเข้ามาถ่ายทำภาพยนตร์ต่างประเทศในประเทศไทยมากขึ้น โดยใช้วิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพด้วยการศึกษาข้อมูลจากเอกสาร และการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกจากบุคลากรของกรมการจัดหางาน ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการนำนโยบายไปปฏิบัติทั้งระดับอำนวยการและระดับปฏิบัติการรวมถึงผู้รับบริการจากนโยบาย การศึกษานโยบายการบริหารจัดการการทำงานของคนต่างด้าวที่เข้ามาถ่ายทำภาพยนตร์ต่างประเทศในประเทศไทย เป็นการศึกษาโดยใช้แนวคิดวงจรนโยบาย (Policy Cycle) มีขั้นตอนการก่อตัวของนโยบายจากแนวคิดพหุกระแส ได้แก่ กระแสปัญหาที่เกิดจากความไม่เหมาะสมของเนื้อหาภาพยนตร์ การเข้ามาแย่งงานคนไทย กระแสนโยบาย จากอุดมการณ์แบบชาตินิยมของรัฐบาล และกระแสการเมืองจากการกดดันของสื่อมวลชนที่มีอิทธิพล หลังจากนั้นจะเป็นกระแสปัญหาจากความไม่ชัดเจนของขั้นตอนการดำเนินงานของหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้อง กระแสนโยบายคือการมีคณะกรรมการภาพยนตร์และวิดีทัศน์แห่งชาติคอยผลักดันมาตรการต่าง ๆ และกระแสการเมืองคือการกำหนดนโยบายซอฟต์พาวเวอร์เป็นนโยบายระดับชาติ ในส่วนของขั้นตอนการนำนโยบายไปปฏิบัติพบว่ามีลักษณะของตัวแบบทางกระบวนของระบบราชการที่ผู้บังคับบัญชาของสำนักงานตามภูมิภาคสามารถเลือกที่จะปฏิบัติหรือไม่ปฏิบัติตามมาตรการหรือแนวทางที่ส่วนกลางกำหนด สำหรับขั้นตอนการประเมินผลนโยบายพบว่านโยบายการบริหารจัดการการทำงานของคนต่างด้าวที่เข้ามาถ่ายทำภาพยนตร์ต่างประเทศในประเทศไทย ของกรมการจัดหางานไม่เป็นการส่งเสริมให้มีการเข้ามาถ่ายทำภาพยนตร์ต่างประเทศในประเทศไทย เป็นเพียงมาตรการเชิงรับเพื่ออำนวยความสะดวกหรือลดภาระให้แก่กองถ่ายทำภาพยนตร์จากต่างประเทศ โดยผู้รับบริการจากนโยบายมีความพึงพอใจต่อมาตรการหรือแนวทางที่กรมการจัดหางานกำหนด ในขณะที่ผู้ปฏิบัติงานมีปัญหาและอุปสรรคในเรื่องภาระงานที่เพิ่มมากขึ้น จากการศึกษาครั้งนี้นำไปสู่ข้อเสนอแนะ เชิงนโยบาย ได้แก่ การยกเว้นหรือผ่อนปรนมาตรการบังคับใช้กฎหมายกับกองถ่ายทำภาพยนตร์ต่างประเทศ และการบูรณาการเชื่อมโยงข้อมูลกับหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้อง
