As of June 2013, all California public school districts are required to incorporate stakeholder input into their operational goals and expenditures to increase stakeholder trust. Trust is a belief by one party in a transaction that the other party in the transaction will act in a way that is fair and in the interest of both parties. Scholars have not been able to reach a consensus on whether the financial performance of firms has a positive influence on CEOs' compensation. Also, boards of directors lack a clear understanding of the relationship between financial performance of firms and CEOs' incentive compensation in the U.S. banking industry. Part of the problem is children who grew up in the shelter system and then returned as adults, a phenomenon known as 2nd-generation homelessness. Literature indicates that no researchers have interviewed second-generation homeless adults about their experiences. The fact that Kant does not articulate a theory of distributive justice has not kept political philosophers from citing Kant as inspiration and support for whatever theory of distributive justice they favor - including those who argue that the notion of distributive justice is itself mistaken. This widespread reliance on Kant invites the question, "Does the Doctrine of Right imply a theory of distributive justice?"

These comorbidities create treatment challenges while negatively influencing outcomes of care. The Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ9) and Global Pain Scale (GPS) are valid screening tools used to score depression and pain symptoms. A patient with diabetes is two to three times more likely to be depressed than the general population. Furthermore, the combination of diabetes and depression is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. However, research has shown that treatment for depression does not correlate with lower HbA1c levels or a decrease in morbidity and mortality. This research reports the development and evaluation of a Korean Author Recognition Test (KART), designed as a measure of print exposure among young adults. Based on the original, English-language version of the Author Recognition Test (ART), the KART demonstrates significant relationships with offline measures of language ability, as well as online measures of word recognition. In particular, KART scores were related to participants' responses on the Comparative Reading Habits (CRH) checklist, suggesting that KART is a valid measure of print exposure. In addition, KART scores showed reliable correlations with offline measures of vocabulary knowledge and language comprehension. Finally, results from …

In this study, we describe the innovative and rigorous phased process used to compose the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) National School Library Standards (AASL, 2018). We begin by recounting previous standards iterations and compared their development processes to the most recent process used during the development of the AASL Standards. After we detail the development timeline and process phases, we conclude with implications for best practices in standards development for school librarians, professional leaders, and practitioners.

The commentaries by Calvo (2018) and Mallatt & Feinberg (2017) on my 2016 target branch out from a common conceptual node like forks in a road. Calvo criticizes me for not acknowledging that plants too are likely to be sentient and claims I have fallen into the kind of category error of which I accuse others ─ a zoocentric bias that fails to grant consciousness to flora. In common parlance, the term “Luddite” means someone who is anti-technology, or maybe, just not adept at using technology. Historically, however, the Luddite movement was a reaction born of industrial accidents and dangerous machines, poor working conditions, and the fact that there were no unions to represent worker interests during England’s initial period of industrialization. The Luddites did not hate technology; they only channeled their anger toward machine-breaking because it had nowhere else to go. In 2015, New South Wales introduced a legislative reform termed DVEC, which made admissible as evidence in chief, visually recorded statements from domestic violence complainants. Unlike other pre-recorded evidence, DVEC is captured at the scene of the incident, shortly after the event. The impetus for implementing DVEC was to overcome the issues identified with prosecuting domestic violence offences owing to the power imbalance in the relationship and the vulnerability of the complainant. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of trade openness and foreign direct investment (FDI) on wages in China using a panel data set of 27 manufacturing sectors over the period of 2001 to 2016. The effects are separated into three groups: total industries, capital-intensive industries and labor-intensive industries. First, by comparing the determinants of three groups of industries, it shows that the impact of trade openness on wages only significant and positive in labor-intensive industries while the impact of FDI on wages is significantly positive in both capital-intensive industries and labor-intensive industries. งานวิจัยชิ้นนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาถึงการถูกประเมินความเชื่อแบบเหมารวมในมิติความอบอุ่น มิติความสามารถ และเจตคติของคนในสังคมที่มีต่อกลุ่มผู้มีความหลากหลายทางเพศ (LGBT) โดยเจตคติต่อกลุ่มผู้ที่มีความหลากหลายทางเพศในงานวิจัยชิ้นนี้มุ่งเน้นไปที่บริบทของการทำงาน งานวิจัยชิ้นนี้ออกแบบให้มี 8 เงื่อนไข โดยกลุ่มตัวอย่างอ่านและประเมินใบประวัติของเป้าหมายที่เป็นเพศชาย, เพศหญิง, เลสเบี้ยน, เกย์ (Gays), ไบเซ็กชวลชาย (Bisexual men), ไบเซ็กชวล (Bisexual women), ชายข้ามเพศ (Transgender men) หรือหญิงข้ามเพศ (Transgender women) กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นชาย และหญิงที่มีรสนิยมแบบรักต่างเพศ 8 เงื่อนไข โดยให้ผู้เข้าร่วมการวิจัยอ่านประวัติของเป้าหมาย ที่อาศัยอยู่ในกรุงเทพมหานคร อายุระหว่าง 20-39 ปี จำนวน 160 คน ผลการวิจัยปรากฏว่าไม่พบว่ารสนิยมทางเพศที่ต่างกัน ส่งผลให้ผู้มีความหลากหลายทางเพศถูกประเมินในมิติความอบอุ่น มิติความสามารถ และเจตคติในบริบทของการทำงานแตกต่างกัน รวมถึงไม่พบว่าเป้าหมายในการประเมินที่เป็นกลุ่มผู้ที่มีความหลากหลายทางเพศ ถูกประเมินการเชื่อแบบเหมารวมในมิติของความอบอุ่น และความสามารถในด้านใดด้านหนึ่งน้อยกว่ากลุ่มรักต่างเพศ ซึ่งขัดแย้งกับงานวิจัยในอดีต ที่แสดงให้เห็นว่ากลุ่มผู้ที่มีความหลากหลายทางเพศมักจะได้รับการประเมินทั้งในด้านหนึ่งน้อยกว่าผู้ที่มีรสนิยมแบบรักต่างเพศ

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ของการรับรู้ข้อจำกัดในการท่องเที่ยว และการรับรู้ประโยชน์ของการท่องเที่ยว ที่ส่งผลให้เกิดพฤติกรรมการท่องเที่ยว โดยมีการจัดการกับข้อจำกัดเป็นตัวแปรส่งผ่าน และมีความมุ่งมั่นในตนเองเป็นตัวแปรกำกับ ผู้เข้าร่วมการวิจัยในครั้งนี้คือ นักท่องเที่ยวแบบสะพายเป้หญิง ชาวไทย จำนวนทั้งหมด 283 คน ทำมาตรวัดการรับรู้ข้อจำกัดในการท่องเที่ยว มาตรวัดการรับรู้ประโยชน์ของการท่องเที่ยว มาตรวัดการจัดการกับข้อจำกัด มาตรวัดพฤติกรรมการท่องเที่ยว และมาตรวัดความมุ่งมั่นในตนเอง การตรวจสอบสมมติฐานด้วยการทดสอบตัวแปรส่งผ่านและตัวแปรกำกับ โดยการทดสอบตัวแปรส่งผ่านอย่างมีเงื่อนไข (moderated mediation) ผ่านโปรแกรมเสริม PROCESS ใน SPSS ผลการวิจัยพบว่าการรับรู้ข้อจำกัดในการท่องเที่ยวสามารถทำนายพฤติกรรมการท่องเที่ยวได้ในทิศทางลบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 โดยมีการจัดการกับข้อจำกัดเป็นตัวแปรส่งผ่านแบบสมบูรณ์ (full mediation) อย่างไรก็ตามผลการวิเคราะห์พบว่าการรับรู้ประโยชน์ของการท่องเที่ยวไม่สามารถทำนายการจัดการกับข้อจำกัดได้อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ จึงสรุปได้ว่าการจัดการกับข้อจำกัดไม่เป็นตัวแปรส่งผ่านระหว่างการรับรู้ประโยชน์ของการท่องเที่ยวและพฤติกรรมการท่องเที่ยว นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่าความมุ่งมั่นในตนเองไม่มีอิทธิพลกำกับในความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างการจัดการกับข้อจำกัดและพฤติกรรมการท่องเที่ยวอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติอีกด้วย

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการใช้สติในการเลี้ยงดูบุตรของพ่อแม่ที่ฝึกสติปัฏฐาน ด้วยระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ การสร้างทฤษฎีฐานราก ที่สร้างทฤษฎีขึ้นจากข้อมูล ผู้ให้ข้อมูลคือ พ่อแม่ผู้ฝึกสติปัฏฐานในระยะยาว จำนวน 10 ราย เก็บข้อมูลด้วยการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกแบบกึ่งโครงสร้าง และวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยวิธีการวิจัยแบบสร้างทฤษฎีจากข้อมูล ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ทฤษฎีฐานรากประกอบด้วย 5 ประเด็นสำคัญได้แก่ 1) ความทุกข์ใจในการเลี้ยงดู อันแสดงถึง ลักษณะของความทุกข์ ที่มาของความทุกข์ใจ และการเปลี่ยนแปลงของความทุกข์ในการใช้สติในการเลี้ยงดู 2) รากฐานในการใช้สติในการเลี้ยงดู ประกอบด้วย ความตั้งมั่นของพ่อแม่ในการใช้สติกับลูก ความสงบ และใจที่มีประสบการณ์และความชำนาญในการสังเกตใคร่ครวญ 3) กระบวนการเท่าทันและเข้าใจในการเลี้ยงดู คือ กระบวนการรู้เท่าทันในปัจจุบันขณะ การยับยั้งตนเอง กระบวนการทำความเข้าใจโดยอาศัยเวลาในการใคร่ครวญ และการแสดงออกต่อลูก 4) ความเข้าใจธรรมชาติในการเลี้ยงดู คือความเข้าใจในความเกี่ยวเนื่องระหว่างตนกับลูก การยอมรับในความไม่แน่นอนในการเลี้ยงดู และการวางใจในการเป็นพ่อแม่ 5) การตระหนักในคุณค่าของการใช้สติในการเลี้ยงดู ประกอบด้วย การตระหนักในคุณค่าที่เกิดกับตนเอง การตระหนักในคุณค่าที่เกิดกับลูก และการตระหนักในคุณค่าที่เกิดกับสัมพันธภาพ ทฤษฎีแสดงและอธิบายความสัมพันธ์ของทั้ง 5 ประเด็นที่มีความเชื่อมโยงกัน โดยเริ่มต้นจากพ่อแม่มีรากฐานในการใช้สติในการเลี้ยงดู และมีความทุกข์ใจในการเลี้ยงดู เชื่อมโยงไปสู่กระบวนการเท่าทันและเข้าใจในการเลี้ยงดู จึงได้ตระหนักในคุณค่าของการใช้สติในการเลี้ยงดู และเกิดความเข้าใจธรรมชาติในการเลี้ยงดู ซึ่งเชื่อมโยงกลับไปยังการเปลี่ยนแปลงของความทุกข์ และรากฐานในการใช้สติในการเลี้ยงดู ทฤษฎีฐานรากที่ปรากฏขึ้นนี้ เป็นองค์ความรู้ที่นักจิตวิทยาการปรึกษาสามารถนำไปประยุกต์ใช้ในการสร้างโปรแกรมพัฒนาสติในการเลี้ยงดูสำหรับพ่อแม่ และนักวิจัยสามารถนำไปประยุกต์ในการพัฒนาองค์ความรู้เกี่ยวกับสติในการเลี้ยงดูในแนวพุทธได้ต่อไป
