The Ecology Of San Luis Obispo: A Children's Book, Heidi Van Campen
Social Sciences
San Luis Obispo is one of the most loved places in the world by its residents and visitors. Located halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, San Luis Obispo is the heart of California's Central Coast. However, this paper is not about the present-day cities or residents. It is an ecological history; the story of life and land over time.
Historians tend to treat nature as the setting for history, rather than a participant. Ecology is a history written knowing that we shape our environment and it shapes us.
This is a story of the ecology of San Luis Obispo.

Journalism
This senior project was done to determine the best practices of social media for California wineries to use in order to connect with the Millennial generation.
The California wine industry has been growing steadily for years. Much of this growth can be attributed to a generation of people in the United States called Millennials. Wineries are searching for the best ways in which to connect with and market to this demographic, …

Understanding Mine Clearance In The Context Of The Ap Mine Ban Convention, Apmbc
Global CWD Repository
The Convention's parties, with the support of a wide range of organisations, have made great progress in the pursuit of their aim of clearing all mined areas. There is an ongoing need, however, to ensure that all actors involved in the implementation of the Convention are clear regarding what “Article 5” obliges States to do and what it does not, what the understandings of the States Parties are concerning the implementation of Article 5, and what the mechanisms put in place related to fulfilment of Article 5 are. To assist in meeting this need, the ISU, with project funding provided …

Assisting Landmine And Other Erw Survivors In The Context Of Disarmament, Disability And Development, Apmbc
Global CWD Repository
A decade of deliberations on the problems caused by conventional weapons has resulted in various international legal instruments. Based on the precedents established through more than a decade of efforts to implement the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention, there is consistency amongst these instruments. Different legal instruments, but with a uniform approach as concerns assisting victims and survivors of landmines and other explosive remnants of war, present certain opportunities. These opportunities concern ensuring coherence, closer cooperation and efficiency, ultimately with a view to achieving the greatest impact on the ground in affected communities. Taking advantage of these opportunities means enhancing the …

Voices In Australia's Aboriginal And Canada's First Nations Literatures, Kim Scott, Eden Robinson
Voices In Australia's Aboriginal And Canada's First Nations Literatures, Kim Scott, Eden Robinson
CLCWeb: Comparative Literature and Culture
Kim Scott suggests in his text "I Come from Here" by means of "yarning" that the authority of Indigenous people and language is primary to an authentic "sense of place." Scott uses an accumulative, episodic, and personal narrative style to argue that the return "to," and consolidation of cultural material "in," a "community of descendants of the informants" must be founded upon principles of community development. Collaboration between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people by sharing of ancestral material with ever widening, concentric circles is how this process results in respect and partnership that empowers community life.
Eden Robinson explores in her …
