A Digital Archive Of Historical Railroad Property Valuation Maps, Dean Chauvin

This paper describes the creation of a digital archive of railroad property valuation maps created for a railway line operated by the New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad Company. The original maps were created by the railroad company in 1915 for the Interstate Commerce Commission. The Commission took data on railroad property into account in calculating passenger and freight rates. Property title schedules for parcels along the railway are provided with the maps. Linen copies of close to 3,000 original maps were donated to Archives and Special Collections, Thomas J. Dodd Research Center, University of Connecticut Libraries by the …

Public Inputs And Dynamic Producer Behavior: Endogenous Growth In U.S. Agriculture, Alejandro Onofri, Lilyan E. Fulginiti

Lilyan E. Fulginiti Publications

This paper is an attempt to understand the impact of public R&D and public infrastructure on the performance of the U.S. agricultural sector during the last part of the twentieth century. A neoclassical Solow growth model is not sufficient for this understanding given the sustained growth performance of the sector. We base our analysis on a well known endogenous growth model, the 'AK model' where nonconvexities are introduced through non-rival inputs. Based on these models and within the dynamic models that rationalize private and public decision making, we have identified three testable hypotheses regarding the aggregate agricultural production technology. They …

Role Of Place Of Residence On Drinking And Driving Among Students In A Hispanic Serving University

Florida Public Health Review

This study describes the role of place of residence on drinking and driving among students in a large Hispanic- serving institution. The National College Health Assessment survey was administered during the fall of 2004. 1130 randomly selected students completed this anonymous questionnaire. Two programmers were hired to design and implement a relational database for the CSSP. During this quarter, a system was designed in ACCESS and has accomplished the following:

• Store personnel information and required documentation on volunteer site stewards. Names of all 3 52 stewards were inputted and fully populate the database. Ethics Statements and Volunteer Agreements unique to each steward are recorded.
