These behaviors, which typically include drug abuse, alcoholism, and suicides, have existed for quite some time. However, the idea of “Diseases of Despair” is fairly recent. In 2015, researchers Anna Case and Angus Deaton first coined the concept while studying an increase in mortality and decrease in life expectancy amongst middle-aged, white populations in different rural communities. These centers were hubs for ritual feasting and religious activities related to the Hopewell Mortuary Cult of Ohio. This project will focus on the Leake site and its relation to the surrounding villages in Northwest Georgia, each of which contains Swift Creek sherds. The Swift Creek Complicated stamped pottery contains curvilinear lines which are not present in other decorations of the Middle Woodland period. The purpose of this analysis is to review data from the USDA Economic Research Survey in a data collection regarding FoodAPS National Household Food Acquisition and Purchase Survey. Our data include a sample size of 4,826 participating households with 279 variables describing each household. Several variables were utilized which include average collective income for households, perceptions of fruit and vegetable prices and quality, self-reporting items about perceived fruit and vegetable consumption, and financial survey responses. The study further indicates that changes in income distribution for the bottom of the population through paid employment, female income, and asset ownership could impact income inequality. Motivated by the 2022 uptick in headline inflation and the marked shift towards globally more restrictive monetary policies, this paper examines the sacrifice ratio, i.e., the percentage cost of actual production lost to every one percentage point decrease in (trend) inflation, for selected Southeast Asian economies. Results indicate that upon adopting a contractive monetary policy, GDP growth dropped by up to 0.5 per cent, confirming that monetary authorities’ disinflationary policies typically trigger declines in both output and employment. This paper uses Black-Scholes-Merton model to quantitatively assess sovereign debt sustainability of Pakistan. Both the International Monetary Fund and Asian Development Bank have separately proposed applying Black Scholes-Merton model to calculate the sovereign default risk. Historically, the Black-Scholes Merton Model has been used to analyze corporate default risk. Both the sovereign and corporate default risk calculation are based on contingent claims approach which calculates risk by reading the sovereign and corporate balance sheets, respectively. This study examines the role of financial integration on exchange market pressure (EMP) across a representative group of forty-two advanced and emerging markets over the period 2000-2019, which covers the global financial crisis, which has heightened monetary and economic policy uncertainty. We use a novel measure of financial integration, namely the uncovered equity return differential versus the US, which is based on the Uncovered Equity Parity and is available at a monthly frequency.

This paper attempted to estimate the impact of withdrawal of TTC reimbursement on remittances inflowing from the KSA into Pakistan. For this purpose, we have used difference in difference (DID) technique on data from July 2018 to September 2022. Our estimates suggest that this policy led to a decline in the remittances inflows from KSA on average between US$ 31 million to US$ 76 million in each month. From policy perspective, Government of Pakistan needs to review this policy of reimbursement on remittances inflowing from KSA. Our results appears robust to various changes in estimation framework.

Temple University Libraries' scholarly repository, TUScholarShare, began in 2020 and is a relatively young scholarly repository with growth potential in many subject areas. Travis Nace, the nursing liaison librarian, noticed an area for potential growth: nursing-produced posters were noticeably absent from the repository. No specific community or sub-community (collections) were focused on nursing research and scholarly publications despite much being produced at Temple University.

The NLM Scrubber is a clinical text de-identification tool developed by the National Library of Medicine. This session will give a brief introduction to different branches of AI. Natural language processing (NLP) is one such branch of AI that combines linguistics and computer science to make human language understandable to computers.
