Nexus is a magazine that began as an insert in the Wright State Guardian student newspaper in 1965 and has since been published semi-regularly. It began only accepting creative writing, but has since expanded to include illustrations, photography and other non-written art forms. Today, it is published in a digital format and accepts submissions from around the country, though it maintains its commitment to the Wright State Community.

This research conducts a cost-benefit analysis of the implementation of lean logistics to the repair of aircraft structural components at the Air Force Material Command's (AFMC) Warner Robins Air Logistics Center (WR-ALC). A literature review identifies new business practices in the automotive industry, collectively 'termed "lean production," that were translated by the RAND Corporation into a modified Air Force logistics system-- the "lean logistics" model.

Theoretical costs and benefits from the lean logistics model are translated into empirical costs and benefits associated with aircraft structural repair. The cost-benefit analysis results clearly demonstrate that express distribution costs for the sizable aircraft …

Resource sharing through interlibrary loan has allowed libraries to offer access to information far beyond the walls of any one institution. Since the first interlibrary loan transaction, however, librarians have worked to reduce borrowing and lending costs and to improve delivery speed. The Ohio Library and Information Network (OhioLINK), in contract with Innovative Interfaces, Inc., is pushing the idea of resource sharing a step further.

Nonrecursive Incremental Evaluation Of Datalog Queries, Guozhu Dong, Jianwen Su, Rodney Topor

We consider the problem of repeatedly evaluating the same (computationally expensive) query to a database that is being updated between successive query requests. In this situation, it should be possible to use the difference between successive database states and the answer to the query in one state to reduce the cost of evaluating the query in the next state. We use nonrecursive Datalog (which are unions of conjunctive queries) to compute the differences, and call this process “incremental query evaluation using conjunctive queries”. This report explores the opportunities and challenges of developing and implementing a strategic plan for coordinated economic development of the Community.

The study examines economic trends and community locational attributes to help detect economic opportunities the community could exploit A focus group session with business leaders helped to pinpoint economic development opportunities. Social Security has left its indelible mark on the American culture, however there still remains considerable debate over the effect it has had in curtailing personal savings for the express purpose of providing for one’s retirement. This study begins with a review of the origins of the modem Social Security system and critiques previous attempts at trying to quantify its impact on personal savings habits. Economic- air pollution models have been developed using an econometrics regression approach for the ambient air concentration levels of total particulate matter (TPM) ,, I960- 1990, sulfur oxide (SOx), 1962-1992, and carbon monoxide (CO), 1970-1992. There are some difficulties in determining the explanatory variables because many variables which affect ambient air levels may also be related to others explanatory variables. Furthermore, the lack of available ambient air concentration level data is another constraint in developing the models. Yet, this study suggests that while gross domestic product per capita has increased over time, ambient air levels of TPM and SOx pollutants …

The "InfoHarness" information integration platform, tools, and services being developed at Bellcore are aimed at providing integrated and rapid access to huge amounts of heterogeneous information independent of the type, representation, and location of information. InfoHarness provides advanced search and browsing capabilities without imposing the burden of restructuring, reformatting or relocating information on information suppliers or creators. This is achieved through object-oriented encapsulation of information and the associated meta-information (e.g., type, location, access rights, owner, creation date, etc.).
