Many types of planning efforts depend on information about the future size and composition of the population. The projections in this report are intended for use in planning. Even under the best of circumstances, however, making projections that accurately indicate future prospects is difficult. Therefore, caution should be exercised when using these or any population projections.
The population projections in this report are the direct product of specific assumptions about future trends infertility, mortality, and migration. These assumptions, in turn, are based on information about past trends in factors which are considered to be the principal determinants of population change. …

The Effect Of The Helping Experience Upon The Self-Concept Of The Helper, Hal J. Kelly
The Effect Of The Helping Experience Upon The Self-Concept Of The Helper, Hal J. Kelly
Thesis, Dissertations, Student Creative Activity, and Scholarship
Important among the reasons which many counselors have given for being counselors has been that the profession enables them to develop themselves (Carkhuff and Berenson, 1967). The idealized outcome of this development has been variously termed inner congruity, integration, self-actualization or simply the realization of a basic potentiality. Regardless of theoretical persuasions, counselors, in moments or candid self-revelation, have admitted that for them the act of engaging in counseling relationships hes contributed to personal growth more rewarding than monetary gain and self-satisfaction. This amounts to an untested truism which could be considered fundamental to the philosophical set of many who …

The Box Elder Stake Academy In Its Historical Setting, Byron L. Parkinson
The Box Elder Stake Academy In Its Historical Setting, Byron L. Parkinson
Theses and Dissertations
The Box Elder Stake Academy was a part of the Church System of Academies under the direction of Karl G. Maeser. The historical setting of Box Elder County is rather unique. It was here that Lorenzo Snow directed one of the most successful forms of the United Order. The nearby city of Corinne was established as one of the few gentile cities in Utah, and from there a new crusade to end Mormon rule in Utah was begun.
The Box Elder Stake Academy was one of the first academies created under the direction of the First Presidency of the Church. …

International Tourism And Culture Change In The Western Caribbean: Temporary And Non-Acculturative Systems, William V. Davidson
International Tourism And Culture Change In The Western Caribbean: Temporary And Non-Acculturative Systems, William V. Davidson
Journal of the Arkansas Academy of Science
The few studies on international tourism and culture change have emphasized the direct effects of tourism on the host society. Recent research on western Caribbean islands indicates that under the stimulation of economic developments arising from tourism, in-migration from adjacent mainlands has effectively stifled, at least temporarily, the onslaught of acculturation by North Americans. On Cozumel Island, Mexico, Mayan-speakers from the Yucatán Peninsula have fortified Cozumeleño culture; in the Bay Islands, Honduras, Spanish-speaking mainlanders are the primary change agents.
A Study Of The Relationship Between Religious Belief Patterns And Measures Of Social Activism, Janet Baumbert
A Study Of The Relationship Between Religious Belief Patterns And Measures Of Social Activism, Janet Baumbert
Student Work
The radical changes in American theology, in religious attitudes and mode of religious expression, and in the nature of the relationship between religious commitment and particular social issues have shaped the present decade in such a way that the thrust of religious belief is being seriously questioned. Among sociologists involved in the study of religion this is a pervading topic (Berger, 1970; Bouma, 1970; Demarath, 1969; Glock, et al. 1967; Hadden, 1969; Stark & Glock, 1970; Tinger, 1969).

An Historical Atlas Of Population Distribution In Kittitas County, Washington - A Teaching Guide, Richard A. Painter
An Historical Atlas Of Population Distribution In Kittitas County, Washington - A Teaching Guide, Richard A. Painter
All Master's Theses
This thesis presents an approach to the study of the population distribution for a county through the use of an historical atlas. Prior to the compilation of the atlas, suggestions for sources of information and background data necessary to understand why changes took place were examined. The historical atlas of population distribution used Kittitas County, Washington, for the period from 1890 to 1970 as an example.
Recommendations emphasized further study of factors which have affected population distribution.

The study was designed to evaluate the assessment instrument and to obtain correlational data between the home environment and certain child development aspects. Correlations were significant on five of the six variables.
