As we argue in a previous article, the labyrinthine worlds of Jorge Luis Borges are more than captivating narratives; they are portals to a deeper understanding of existence. By weaving elements of science-fiction fantasy with philosophical and ethical inquiries, Borges's short stories bridge the seemingly disparate realms of physics and the humanities, offering fertile ground for contemporary physics research. This paper is a follow up to our previous article [1] suggesting that it is possible to find tunneling time solutions for Schrodinger equation considering quasicrystalline as interstellar matter, by virtue of quasicrystalline potential. The paper also discusses the mapping of these equations to Riccati equations, a class of nonlinear differential equations. The journal Progress in Physics was created in January 2005 on behalf of many influential scientists with whom we were in correspondence. The main reason was that publications in other journals were allowed only if the submitter was affiliated with a scientific institution or research organization. Given this situation, many working scientists finding themselves partially employed or unemployed, such as in between research grants, find themselves unable to publish their research results. Even e-print archives such as Cornell’s arXiv required scientific affiliation and still follow this policy.

The presentation explores the possibility of an aether medium, also referred to as a virtual inertia/spin superfluid medium, existing to explain certain physical phenomena. While the concept of an aether has been historically rejected by mainstream physics, recent findings and interpretations offer potential justifications for its reconsideration. Following our preceding article, where we discussed alternative interpretations of the advanced perihelion of Mercury, the present article revisits the 1919 solar eclipse expedition led by Arthur Eddington, which famously provided the first observational confirmation of Einstein's theory of general relativity. We focus on the deflection of starlight data obtained during the eclipse, a cornerstone of this validation. Here, we explore three alternative explanations for the observed light bending that challenge the sole attribution to general relativity. Flow past bluff bodies like square cylinders is important in engineering applications, but flow patterns behind staggered cylinder arrangements remain poorly understood. Existing studies have focused on tandem or side-by-side configurations, while offset orientations have received less attention. The aim of this paper is to numerically investigate flow dynamics and force characteristics behind two offset square cylinders using the single relaxation time lattice Boltzmann method. Identifying integrable dynamics remains a formidable challenge, and despite centuries of research, only a handful of examples are known to date. In this article, we explore a distinct form of area-preserving (symplectic) mappings derived from the stroboscopic Poincaré cross section of a kicked rotator—an oscillator subjected to an external force periodically switched on in short pulses. The significance of this class of problems extends to various applications in physics and mathematics, including particle accelerators, crystallography, and studies of chaos. In this thesis, there is a presentation of the isometries from the Lorentz-Minkowski Plane and a solution to the Frieze Patterns. There is a suggestion for a solution for the Tiling Patterns. Since the construction of these mathematical structures is well understood in the Euclidean plane, one can follow a similar approach to the construction of such objects to find the unique number of groups that describe all possible frieze patterns while there is a suggestion of the number for the tiling case. There is a reflection of these results in a computational and cosmological context.

However, for most engineering applications, a macroscopic or continuum description has usually been sufficient due to the large disparity between the spatial and temporal scales relevant to these applications and the scales of the underlying molecular dynamics. Conducted as a quantitative descriptive study, the research involved 60 eleventh-grade MIPA students from SMA Laboratorium UM. The research instrument was a scientific argumentation test comprising 12 essay questions, designed according to the Toulmin Argumentation Pattern (TAP) adaptation indicators, with a reliability coefficient of 0.332. This study investigates the prevalence and types of misconceptions among first-year Physics Education students regarding simple electrical circuits using the Simple Electric Circuits Diagnostic Test (SECDT). Employing a quantitative descriptive approach, the research analyzes responses from a sample of 42 students, selected through convenience sampling. The SECDT, a three-tier diagnostic instrument with a reliability of 0.69, identifies student misconceptions by categorizing responses into scientific knowledge, misconceptions, no understanding, and lack of knowledge. The results indicate significant gender differences in the types and prevalence of misconceptions. Male students exhibited a higher percentage of misconceptions (77.5%) compared to female students (62.8%). Notably, …

Force and motion, integral topics within this field, are inherently linked to students’ daily experiences. Numerous studies have identified the persistence of common sense knowledge among students. This research presents a literature review aimed at identifying such consistently held misconceptions. We analyzed 17 papers sourced from Publish or Perish 8, Google Scholar, and Scopus. This research aimed to assess the knowledge and behavior of the community regarding the Sustainable Reserve Food Garden (SRFG) program. The study was conducted in July 2016 in Jorong Lubuk Agam, Kenagarian Ampang Kuranji Koto Baru, Dharmasraya, West Sumatra. Utilizing a descriptive quantitative approach, data were collected using Accidental Random Sampling, involving 33 heads of families as respondents. The findings revealed that community knowledge and behavior related to the SRFG program were generally insufficient, with 44.1% and 47.27% of respondents, respectively, demonstrating a lack of understanding and practice. We develop a phase reconstruction algorithm for the Shack–Hartmann wavefront sensor (SHWFS) that is tolerant to phase discontinuities, such as the ones imposed by shock waves. In practice, this algorithm identifies SHWFS locations where the resultant tilt information is affected by the shock and improves the tilt information in these locations using the local SHWFS observation-plane irradiance patterns. The algorithm was shown to work well over the range of conditions tested with both simulated and experimental data. In turn, the reconstruction algorithm will enable robust wavefront sensing in transonic, supersonic, and hypersonic environments.
