The Stationary Phase Method For Real Analytic Geometry, Domenico Napoletani, Daniele C. Struppa

We prove that the existence of isolated solutions of systems of equations of analytical functions on compact real domains in Rp, is equivalent to the convergence of the phase of a suitable complex valued integral I(h) for h→∞. As an application, we then use this result to prove that the problem of establishing the irrationality of the value of an analytic function F(x) at a point x0 can be rephrased in terms of a similar phase convergence.

Motivated by recent work in the mathematics and engineering literature, we study integrability and non-tangential regularity on the two-torus for rational functions that are holomorphic on the bidisk. One way to study such rational functions is to fix the denominator and look at the ideal of polynomials in the numerator such that the rational function is square integrable. A concrete list of generators is given for this ideal as well as a precise count of the dimension of the subspace of numerators with a specified bound on bidegree. The dimension count is accomplished by constructing a natural pair of commuting …

We give necessary and sufficient conditions to solve an interpolation problem for free holomorphic functions bounded in norm on a free polynomial polyhedron. As an application, we prove that every bounded holomorphic function on a polynomial polyhedron extends to a bounded free function.

In this article we consider a non-standard finite difference method for numerical solution of linear Fredholm integro-differential equations. The non-standard finite difference method and the repeated / composite trapezoidal quadrature method are used to transform the Fredholm integro-differential equation into a system of non-linear algebraic equations. The numerical experiments on some linear model problems show the simplicity and efficiency of the proposed method. It is observed from the numerical experiments that our method is convergent and second order accurate.

In this paper we have investigated the growth properties of solutions of the generalized axially symmetric, reduced wave equation in (n + 1) variables. Results analogus to those for order and type found in the theory of entire functions of several complex variables, of solutions, in terms of their expansion coefficients have been obtained. Our study is essential to a detailed understanding of the scattering of waves by central potentials and may be applied for generalized (n + 2)dimensional problems of potential scattering in quantum mechanics.

This paper deals with the introduction of a fuzzy over-relaxed proximal point iterative scheme based on H(-, -)-cocoercivity framework for solving a generalized variational inclusion problem with fuzzy mappings. The resolvent operator technique is used to approximate the solution of generalized variational inclusion problem with fuzzy mappings and convergence of the iterative sequences generated by the iterative scheme is discussed. Our results can be treated as refinement of many previously-known results.

In this article, we have applied Jacobi polynomial to solve Riccati differential equation of fractional order. To do so, we have presented a general formula for the Jacobi operational matrix of fractional integral operator. Using the Tau method, the solution of this problem reduces to the solution of a system of algebraic equations. The numerical results for the examples presented in this paper demonstrate the efficiency of the present method.

In this article, the local fractional variational iteration method is proposed to solve nonlinear partial differential equations within local fractional derivative operators. To illustrate the ability and reliability of the method, some examples are illustrated. A comparison between local fractional variational iteration method with the other numerical methods is given, revealing that the proposed method is capable of solving effectively a large number of nonlinear differential equations with high accuracy. In addition, we show that local fractional variational iteration method is able to solve a large class of nonlinear problems involving local fractional operators effectively, more easily and accurately, and …

Data clustering plays an important role in effective analysis of gene expression. Although DNA microarray technology facilitates expression monitoring, several challenges arise when dealing with gene expression datasets. Some of these challenges are the enormous number of genes, the dimensionality of the data, and the change of data over time. The genetic groups which are biologically interlinked can be identified through clustering. One type of conditionally convergent series that has long been considered by mathematicians is the Alternating Harmonic Series and its sum under various types of rearrangements. The purpose of this thesis is to introduce results from the classical theory of rearrangements dating back to the 19th and early 20th century. We will look at results by mathematicians such as Ohm, Riemann, Schlömilch, Pringsheim, and Sierpiński. In addition, we show examples of each classical result by applying the Alternating Harmonic Series under the different types of rearrangements, and also introducing theorems by Lévy and Steinitz, and Wilczyński which are modern extensions …

In this thesis, we explore the effect of restricting the coefficients of polynomials on the bounds for the number of zeros in a given region. The results presented herein build on a body of work, culminating in the generalization of bounds among three classes of polynomials. The hypotheses of monotonicity on each class of polynomials were further subdivided into sections concerning r reversals among the moduli, real parts, and both real and imaginary parts of the coefficients.

Regression analysis is used to identify monotonic trends to assign water age using ion data from two large well water databases from southeast Minnesota (SE MN). Nitrate (NO3-N), chloride (Cl), sodium (Na), and sulfate (SO4) ions in the commonly used aquifers in SE MN can be used as groundwater tracers since they are either entirely or partly anthropogenic in their sources, their loading occurs on a regional scale, and they are almost entirely conserved. Speech delay is a childhood language problem that sometimes is resolved on its own but sometimes may cause more serious language difficulties later. This leads therapists to screen children for detection at early ages in order to eliminate future problems. Using the Goldman-Fristoe Test of Articulation (GFTA) method, therapists listen to a child's pronunciation of certain phonemes and phoneme pairs in specified words and judge the child's stage of speech development. I give an overview of the basic theory of Hilbert spaces necessary to understand the convergence of the Fourier series for square integrable functions. I state the necessary theorems and definitions to understand the formulations of the problem in a Hilbert space framework, and then I give some applications of the theory along the way.
