Total Differentiability And Monogenicity For Functions In Algebras Of Order 4, I. Sabadini, Daniele C. Struppa Jan 2021

Total Differentiability And Monogenicity For Functions In Algebras Of Order 4, I. Sabadini, Daniele C. Struppa

Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science Faculty Articles and Research

In this paper we discuss some notions of analyticity in associative algebras with unit. We also recall some basic tool in algebraic analysis and we use them to study the properties of analytic functions in two algebras of dimension four that played a relevant role in some work of the Italian school, but that have never been fully investigated.

Numerical Integration Through Concavity Analysis, Daniel J. Pietz Jan 2021

Numerical Integration Through Concavity Analysis, Daniel J. Pietz

Rose-Hulman Undergraduate Mathematics Journal

We introduce a relationship between the concavity of a C2 func- tion and the area bounded by its graph and secant line. We utilize this relationship to develop a method of numerical integration. We then bound the error of the approximation, and compare to known methods, finding an improvement in error bound over methods of comparable computational complexity.

Radial Singular Solutions To Semilinear Partial Differential Equations, Marcelo A. Almora Rios Jan 2021

Radial Singular Solutions To Semilinear Partial Differential Equations, Marcelo A. Almora Rios

HMC Senior Theses

We show the existence of countably many non-degenerate continua of singular radial solutions to a p-subcritical, p-Laplacian Dirichlet problem on the unit ball in R^N. This result generalizes those for the 2-Laplacian to any value p and extends recent work on the p-Laplacian by considering solutions both radial and singular.

Solving Neutrosophic Linear Equations Systems Using Symbolic Computation (Resolucion De Sistemas De Ecuaciones Lineales Neutrosóficas Mediante Computación Simbólica), Maykel Leyva-Vazquez, Florentin Smarandache

In this paper, we apply the concept of neutrosophic numbers to solve a systems of neutrophic linear equations using symbolic computation. Also, we utilize Jupyter, which is supported in Google Colaboratory for performing symbolic computation. The sympy library of Python is used to perform the process of neutrosophic computation. Systems of neutrosophic linear equations are solved through symbolic computation in Python. A case study was developed for the determination of vehicular traffic with indeterminacy. This king of computation opens new ways to deal with indeterminacy in real-world problems.

L_P_ Approximation By Relu Neural Networks, Eman Samir Bhaya, Zainab Abdulmunim Sharba Dec 2020

L_P_ Approximation By Relu Neural Networks, Eman Samir Bhaya, Zainab Abdulmunim Sharba

Karbala International Journal of Modern Science

We know that we can use the neural networks for the approximation of functions for many types of activation functions. Here, we treat only neural networks with simple and particular activation function called rectified linear units (ReLU). The main aim of this paper is to introduce a type of constructive universal approximation theorem and estimate the error of the universal approximation. We will obtain optimal approximation if we have a basis independent of the target function. We prove a type of Debao Chen's theorem for approximation.

Sum Of Cubes Of The First N Integers, Obiamaka L. Agu Dec 2020

Sum Of Cubes Of The First N Integers, Obiamaka L. Agu

Electronic Theses, Projects, and Dissertations

In Calculus we learned that 􏰅Sum^{n}_{k=1} k = [n(n+1)]/2 , that Sum^{􏰅n}_{k=1} k^2 = [n(n+1)(2n+1)]/6 , and that Sum^{n}_{k=1} k^{3} = (n(n+1)/2)^{2}. These formulas are useful when solving for the area below quadratic or cubic function over an interval [a, b]. This tedious process, solving for areas under a quadratic or a cubic, served as motivation for the introduction of Riemman integrals. For the overzealous math student, these steps were replaced by a simpler method of evaluating antiderivatives at the endpoints a and b. From my recollection, a former instructor informed us to do the value of memorizing these formulas. …

A Novel Framework Using Neutrosophy For Integrated Speech And Text Sentiment Analysis, Florentin Smarandache, Kritika Mishra, Ilanthenral Kandasamy, Vasantha Kandasamy W.B.

Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications

With increasing data on the Internet, it is becoming difficult to analyze every bit and make sure it can be used efficiently for all the businesses. One useful technique using Natural Language Processing (NLP) is sentiment analysis. Various algorithms can be used to classify textual data based on various scales ranging from just positive-negative, positive-neutral-negative to a wide spectrum of emotions. While a lot of work has been done on text, only a lesser amount of research has been done on audio datasets. An audio file contains more features that can be extracted from its amplitude and frequency than a …
