Prof. Cai Wen [1] defined the 1-D Distance and 1-D Dependent Function in 1983. F. Smarandache [6] generalized them to n-D Distance and n-D Dependent Function respectively in 2012 during his postdoc research at Guangdong University of Technology in Guangzhou. O. I. Şandru [7] extended the last results in 2013. Now [2015], as a further generalization, we unify all these results into a single formula for the n-D Distance and respectively for the n-D Dependent Function.

In this paper, a new method based on the generalized Purcell method is proposed to solve the usual least-squares problem arising in the GMRES method. The theoretical aspects and computational results of the method are provided. For the popular iterative method GMRES, the decomposition matrices of the Hessenberg matrix is obtained by using a simple recursive relation instead of Givens rotations. The other advantages of the proposed method are low computational cost and no need for orthogonal decomposition of the Hessenberg matrix or pivoting. Matrix calculations underlie countless problems in science, mathematics, and engineering. When the involved matrices are highly structured, displacement operators can be used to accelerate fundamental operations such as matrix-vector multiplication. In this thesis, we provide an introduction to the theory of displacement operators and study the interplay between displacement and natural matrix constructions involving direct sums, Kronecker products, and blocking. We also investigate the algebraic behavior of displacement operators, developing results about invertibility and kernels.

This image is based on several different algorithms interconnected within a single program in the language BASIC-256. The fundamental structure involves a tightly wound spiral working outwards from the center of the image. As the spiral is drawn, different values of red, green and blue are modified through separate but related processes, producing the changing appearance. Algebra, trigonometry, geometry, and analytic geometry are all utilized in overlapping ways within the program. As with many works of algorithmic art, small changes in the program can produce dramatic alterations of the visual output, which makes lots of variations possible.

It deals with various topics, such as: quasi-isogonal cevians, nedians, polar of a point with respect to a circle, anti-bisector, aalsonti-symmedian, anti-height and their isogonal. A nedian is a line segment that has its origin in a triangle’s vertex and divides the opposite side in Q equal segments. In this thesis, we present a new Feasible Interior-Point Method (IPM) for Linear Complementarity Problem (LPC) over Symmetric Cones. The advantage of this method lies in that it uses full Newton-steps, thus, avoiding the calculation of the step size at each iteration. By suitable choice of parameters we prove the global convergence of iterates which always stay in the the central path neighborhood. A global convergence of the method is proved and an upper bound for the number of iterations necessary to find ε-approximate solution of the problem is presented.

A 4-point nonlinear corner-cutting subdivision scheme is established. It is induced from a special C-shaped biarc circular spline structure. The scheme is circular-invariant and can be effectively applied to 2-dimensional (2D) data sets that are locally convex. The scheme is also extended adaptively to non-convex data. Explicit examples are demonstrated.

In this paper we propose a new method to forecast enrollments based on fuzzy time series. The proposed method belongs to the first order and time-variant methods. Historical enrollments of the University of Alabama from year 1948 to 2009 are used in this study to illustrate the forecasting process. By comparing the proposed method with other methods we will show that the proposed method has a higher accuracy rate for forecasting enrollments than the existing methods.

Infeasible linear inequalities appear in many disciplines. In this paper we investigate the 𝑙1 and 𝑙∞ solutions of such systems in the presence of uncertainties in the problem data. We give equivalent linear programming formulations for the robust problems. Finally, several illustrative numerical examples using the cvx software package are solved showing the importance of the robust model in the presence of uncertainties in the problem data.

This work is focused on the optimal correction of infeasible system of linear equality. In this paper, for correcting this system, we will make the changes just in the coefficient matrix by using l norm and show that solving this problem is equivalent to solving a fractional quadratic problem. To solve this problem, we use the genetic algorithm. Some examples are provided to illustrate the efficiency and validity of the proposed method.
