Computational Investigation Of The Ionization Potential Of Lead Sulfide Quantum Dots, Jessica Beyer Jan 2023

Computational Investigation Of The Ionization Potential Of Lead Sulfide Quantum Dots, Jessica Beyer

Scripps Senior Theses

The purpose of this work was to determine the impact of quantum dot size on ionization potential and to determine how the presence of carbonyl-based ligands affect the ionization potential of lead sulfide quantum dot systems. Ionization potential (IP) is defined as the energy required to remove an electron from an atom, molecule, or material. IP helps scientists determine how reactive the material of interest is, which is crucial information when manufacturing nanomaterials. Accurate quantum chemical calculations of ionization potential are challenging due to the computational cost associated with the numerical solution of the Dyson equation. In this work, the …

Injection Depletion Effect In Semiconductors With Pair Impurity Complexes, A. Yu. Leyderman, A. Uteniyazov, R. Turmanova, M. Dauletbayev

Karakalpak Scientific Journal

The possibility of realizing the effect of injection depletion in a + -structure made on the basis of a semiconductor with paired donor-acceptor complexes is considered. It is shown that the appearance of this effect is possible under conditions of almost complete compensation of the shallow dopant donor impurity by the charge of the acceptor component of the pair complex. A necessary condition is also a strong asymmetry of the coefficients of capture of holes at the acceptor level in comparison with the coefficient of capture of electrons at the donor level.

Nonlinear Photoelasticity Processes Near Resonances At The Frequency Of Electronic Transitions From Deep Levels To The Conduction Zone, R. Аyukhanov, A. Uteniyazov, S. Farmonov, N. Shernazarov

Karakalpak Scientific Journal

The phenomenon of nonlinear photoelasticity, which consists of the occurrence of nonlinear photoelasticity coefficients comparable in magnitude to linear ones near the electronic resonance between the deep impurity levels and the bottom of the conduction zone, is considered theoretically. Analytical expressions for the Fourier decomposition coefficients of the dielectric permittivity of the crystal in the phase of the sound wave, which are proportional to the photoelasticity coefficients, are obtained. A general criterion for the nonlinear photoelasticity effect in the investigated frequency region is found numerically. It is shown that high deformation potentials of deep levels stimulate the appearance of this …

Honors Theses

The study of water clusters is an important area of research in many disciplines, such as biology, physical chemistry, and environmental studies. However, due to the difficulty in studying larger water clusters, such as clathrate hydrates, it is beneficial to obtain accurate descriptions of smaller water clusters to use as models for larger systems via computational methods. By starting with small water clusters, such as (H2O)6, and moving into larger systems it is possible to build up data on various water structures that can determine the energetics of the various geometries within a certain number of water molecules. …

Local And 2-Local Derivations On Octonion Algebras, Allayar Allambergenov Jul 2021

Local And 2-Local Derivations On Octonion Algebras, Allayar Allambergenov

Karakalpak Scientific Journal

The present paper is devoted to study of local and 2-local derivations on octonion algebras. We shall give a general form of local derivations on the real octonion algebra \[{\mathbb{O}_\mathbb{R}}.\] This description implies that the space of all local derivations on \[{\mathbb{O}_\mathbb{R}}\] when equipped with Lie bracket is isomorphic to the Lie algebra \[\mathfrak{s}{\mathfrak{o}_7}(\mathbb{R})\] of all real skew-symmetric \[7 \times 7\]-matrices. We also consider \[2\]-local derivations on an octonion algebra \[{\mathbb{O}_\mathbb{F}}\] over an algebraically closed field \[\mathbb{F}\] of the characteristic zero and prove that every \[2\]-local derivation on \[{\mathbb{O}_\mathbb{F}}\] is a derivation. Further, we apply these results to similar problems …

While automated feature extraction has had tremendous success in many deep learning algorithms for image analysis and natural language processing, it does not work well for data involving complex internal structures, such as molecules. Data representations via advanced mathematics, including algebraic topology, differential geometry, and graph theory, have demonstrated superiority in a variety of biomolecular applications, however, their performance is often dependent on manual parametrization. This work introduces the auto-parametrized weighted element-specific graph neural network, dubbed AweGNN, to overcome the obstacle of this tedious parametrization process while also being a suitable technique for automated feature extraction on these internally complex …

Current Transportation Processes In P-N-N+ - Structures Under Saturation Of Recombination Rate, Abat K. Uteniyazov, A Leyderman, M Nsanbaev, Sh Annayeva

Karakalpak Scientific Journal

In the article, the model of the recombination of non - equilibrium carriers through a pair recombination complex of the donor-acceptor pair type is studied under conditions when the concentration of such paired complexes changes (decreases) during the excitation of the material. Also, the article describes that the injection into the p-n-n+ - structure can lead to fundamental changes in the distribution of the concentration of free carriers, especially, to the appearance of a periodic term depending on the concentration of the sample length (instead of the usual exponential dependence).

Modeling The Problem Of Integral Geometry On A Family Of Hyperbolic And Spherical Curves, Azamat Pirimbetov, N. Uteuliev, G. Djaykov

Karakalpak Scientific Journal

The problems of integral geometry in a strip on a family of curves of hyperbolic and spherical type are considered which have numerous applications in problems of geophysics, thermoacoustic and photoacoustic tomography. Explicit formulas are obtained for the Fourier image of the solution of integral geometry problems in the class of smooth compactly supported functions. Further, the obtained formulas are investigated for stability using numerical methods. To solve the problems, algorithms are constructed. Numerical and graphical results of applying these algorithms to solving the problems are presented.

Influence Of Laterial State Of Pair Impurity Complex On Recombination Processes In Semiconductors, L Yu Leyderman, R A. Ayukhanov, Abat Uteniyazov, E S. Esenbaeva, Sh X. Annayeva Mar 2021

Influence Of Laterial State Of Pair Impurity Complex On Recombination Processes In Semiconductors, L Yu Leyderman, R A. Ayukhanov, Abat Uteniyazov, E S. Esenbaeva, Sh X. Annayeva

Karakalpak Scientific Journal

The paper analyzes the question of the possible influence of the lateral state of a paired impurity complex on the recombination processes. It is shown that the lateral state of the paired impurity complex does not affect the recombination processes of nonequilibrium carriers - they go through that component of the impurity complex that exchanges carriers with both bands (in this particular case, through the component). The second component of the complex () can apparently play some role in the processes of carrier attachment.
