Cycling presents a compelling solution for promoting personal health and environmental well-being, particularly for short-distance travel. Despite its numerous advantages, cycling uptake in the United States remains disproportionately low, primarily due to safety concerns. Traditional frameworks for assessing cyclist stress are hindered by their impracticality and inability to provide real-time evaluations. Self-report surveys and physiological measurements offer alternative approaches but suffer from limitations such as retrospective reporting biases and accessibility challenges, respectively. A mixed-method study conducted in Fall 2023 across three sections, including one English Composition I and two English Composition II courses, provides insightful revelations. Naturally occurring conversation often involves multiple overlapping speakers, of different ages, accents and genders, as well as noisy environments and suboptimal audio recording equipment, all of which reduce ASR accuracy. This paper introduces a path planning algorithm for a system with squid dynamics in a cluttered environment. We capture the complex interactions of fin, arms, and body patterning by analyzing experimental data collected from observing squid motion. We extract nine motion primitives to build the control sequence for a time-optimal trajectory. This task is formulated as a mixed-integer program, and we generate the minimum-time trajectory using a sample-based approach. This project aims to develop an automated invoice processing system leveraging Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technologies to streamline invoice management, reduce manual effort, and minimize errors. The system captures invoice images via a mobile application and validates the vendor against a predefined vendor list. Recognized vendor’s invoices are uploaded to SharePoint and sent for further processing with OCR to extract data, while others are routed for approval before being processed further. In this paper, I explore some of the ways in which artificial intelligence might enhance the sentencing process through recidivism prediction technology. Notably, this technology can increase the accuracy of risk predictions and the speed with which sentencing decisions are reached. I then show, however, that the recidivism prediction technology is likely to turn into what data scientist Cathy O’Neil calls a Weapon of Math Destruction. This work formulates the hazard prediction problem while addressing the research question: Can machine learning create a model to automatically recognize patterns that correspond to hazard state conditions during a mission-critical operation? Supervised learning models were trained and tested on data observed from mission simulators, which allowed for safe observation of dynamic system states and undesirable casualty events. However, we have little knowledge as to how these tools are being used by software developers beyond anecdotal evidence and word-of-mouth reports. Although we are still a long way from the science fiction version of “artificial general intelligence” that thinks, feels, and refuses to “open the pod bay doors,” recent advances in machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) have captured the public’s imagination and lawmakers’ interest. We now have large language models (LLMs) that can pass the bar exam, carry on (what passes for) a conversation about almost any topic, create new music, and create new visual art. These artifacts are often indistinguishable from their human-authored counterparts and yet can be produced at a speed and scale surpassing human ability.

ChatGPT stands out as a particularly appealing Generative Pretrained Transformer (GPT) model that offers supplementary capabilities through GPTs and plugins.
