Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: Although recent years have witnessed great improvement in the research of biomechanical simulation with user interactions for surgical simulation, it still suffers from many challenges such as computational model of soft tissue undergoing large deformation, collision detection, volume conservation, etc. A simple and efficient framework was proposed to meet these challenges. To well reproduce the mechanical response of organs, point based method was used to model the elastic solids undergoing large deformations. In addition, position based dynamics was adopted to model the objects collision, friction and volume conservation, which considerably improved the real-time performance and stability of complex interactions …

According to the location of the salient object, the center of the Gaussian model was adjusted. Both saliency detection value and Gaussian model combined effect of the final saliency values. The method paid attention to the …

Evaluation Method Of Dimensional Visual Effects Based On Improved Grey Clustering, Yanyang Zeng, Panpan Jia
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: Currently, the assessment of the three-dimensional visual effects is concentrated on the assessment methods, while ignoring the role of the index system. Therefore, an index system about fidelity evaluation of the visual simulation was proposed, including the various steps of the construction of the entire visual simulation system. The steps are from three-dimensional modeling to the output of simulation screen. On this basis, the evaluation method of dimensional visual effects was proposed based on improved grey clustering, and it is the combination of subjective and objective. The fuzzy evaluation was used to improve the method of determining the weights, …

Research On 3d Airway Trees Segmentation And Centerline Extraction Algorithm, Yanbo Li, Yu Xiang
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: Centerline extraction plays an important role in virtual bronchology. Organ segmentation and centerline extraction with correct topology structure is very difficult, especially for multiple branching structure organs. Therefore, a 3D airway tree segmentation and centerline extraction algorithm was proposed. A new region growing method was proposed to extract the main branch and sub-branch. The initial center was extracted based on the relationship of adjacent section. The center was corrected by computing the value of the determinant of Jacobian matrix, and the path with all the points was generated by Dijkstra's shortest path algorithm. The experimental results show that …

Motion Tracking System By Direct Fusion Of Rgb-D Camera And Micro-Imu Sensors, Zhang Yang, Xu Lin, Guangyi Sun
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: Recently, low cost full Body Motion Tracking attracted tremendous attentions in the fields of Computer Vision and Automation. Single depth camera-and inertial-based motion tracking systems rapidly have become two primary options for small-business and individual consuming markets, due to their relatively inexpensive price and comparable performance. However, both depth camera-and inertial-based motion tracking systems have inherent disadvantages which cannot be eliminated theoretically and experimentally. For example, depth camera tracking mostly failed in the presence of occlusion while inertial sensor tracking usually suffered from drift errors. Therefore, a novel multiple-sensor fusion approach which seamlessly combined the data measured from a …

The physics of flight influences the morphology of bird wings through natural selection on flight performance. The connection between wing morphology and performance is unclear due to the complex relationships between various parameters of flight. In order to better understand this connection, we present a holistic analysis of gliding flight that preserves complex relationships between parameters. We use a computational model of gliding flight, along with analysis by uncertainty quantification, to 1) create performance landscapes of gliding based on output metrics (maximum lift-to-drag ratio, minimum gliding angle, minimum sinking speed, lift coefficient at minimum sinking speed); and 2) predict what …

Gait Recognition Based-On Relative Motion Features And Kinect, Yang Ke, Dou Yong, Lv Shaohe
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: Gait recognition Kinect is a very important biometric technology. Gait feature can be divided into two categories: static and dynamic. Some work found that although the essential characteristics of gait are motion, but the motion feature's recognition capability is limited. However, is the distinguishing ability of the motion itself limited, or existing features doesn't adequately capture the characteristics of motion? Relative distance-based motion features were proposed, and distances between the particular skeleton points and their changes were used to characterize the gait. The relative motion features were extracted without calculating the gait cycle, and with robustness. Experimental results …

Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: Hand-designed features (such as Gabor, LBP) has been widely employed in facial expression recognition. In the real-world applications of facial expression recognition, it is very difficult to achieve perfect face alignment because of the impact of complex background and the limitations of face alignment approaches. The problem of facial expression recognition based on ISA in the situation of not precise face alignment was investigated. Through analyzing the facial expression recognition performances with different subspace size, it was turned …

Texture Classification Based On Multi-Scale Wavelet, Liao Ning, Lisha Xu, Xiaoshan Qian
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: Texture analysis is quite sensitive to rotations. An efficient approach, called Invariant Contourlet-Fourier Descriptor, was proposed to achieve rotation invariance in texture analysis by extracting a set of Shannon entropy in contourlet domain. Discrete Fourier Transform analysis was applied to entropy vectors of each scale to form rotation invariant feature vectors, the dimensionality of which was reduced further due to the symmetry of DFT magnitude spectrum. Two classifiers, including the well-known Euclidean distance and Support Vector Machine, were studied to measure the distance between the known and unknown features. Experimental results on 1500 texture images show that …

Modeling And Simulation Of Nonlinear Ultrasonic Evaluation For Steel Damage By Finite Element Analysis, Yanyan Liu, Shiwei Ma
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: A method was developed to theoretically determine the creep damage of steel by using the nonlinear ultrasonic technique. A two-dimensional finite element model was built to simulate the creep damage of the material and the ultrasonic wave propagation through the degraded material. The nonlinear phenomenon of wave distortion was due to the microstructural changes of the material, which caused distortion that accumulated with propagation distance. Based on the model, the nonlinear parameter of the second-harmonic wave increased with the increase of temperature, which gave some guidelines for the evaluation of the early stage of the degradation of mechanical properties …

Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: In parallel and distributed discrete-event simulation, the work load of logical processes (LPs) may become imbalanced due to the change of resources or newly generated events. This will increase LPs' waiting time in conservative simulations and the rollback times in the optimistic simulation. A topology-aware dynamic load-balancing approach of conservative simulation was proposed to solve this problem. The working time was monitored and calculated to detect whether imbalance occurs based on K-means clustering algorithm. The load balancing scheme was calculated according to the load and topology. Experimental results show that the proposed approach can balance the load rapidly and …
