Advances In Research And Application Of In-Situ Visualization, Wang Fang, Sikun Li, Zhao Dan, Zeng Liang

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: Scientific-Visualization is the most effective means of analyzing numerical simulation data. With the continuous improvement of the high performance computing technology, numerical simulation scale is growing rapidly. It is very difficult to analyze large scale parallel numerical simulation data efficiently due to the limits of IO bandwidth, storage system capacity and post processing pattern of visualization. In-situ visualization utilized the same computer system that ran the simulation tasks to operate visual computing and rendering, so it could overcome the limits of IO and storage system. The advances of in-situ visualization in recent years were reviewed, including data management, large-scale …

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: In order to protect user privacy, identification computing of user facial image data in the cloud was accomplished, the sparse representation based private face recognition method in the cloud was proposed. Terminal users collected face images and compared with face images in cloud database and then determined whether faces the terminal acquired belonged to the cloud face database, but both could not achieve each other's face image content. The method processed face images in database and cloud into sparse representation via a third-party terminal, then using Paillier and oblivious transfer homomorphic encryption algorithm to contrast sparse representation coefficient vector …

Pose Estimation Using Limbs Adjustment, Cai Peng, Dehui Kong, Baocai Yin, Huo Yi

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: Human body is decomposed into several local component templates connected with tree structure by articulated pose estimation with mixture-of-parts, and the corresponding full score is used to estimate body pose. To address this problem, pose estimation using limbs adjustment with mixtures-of-parts models was proposed. And pixel discrete direction, local characteristic functions blending full score and pixel discrete direction and other attributes, and pose estimation using limbs adjustment based on local characteristic functions of articulated position …

Improved Method Of Extracting Hks Descriptors And Non-Rigid Classification Applications, Jingyu Jiang, Lili Wan

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: In order to make the HKS(heat kernel signature)have wider applicability in non-rigid shape analysis, an improved method of extracting HKS descriptors for unconnected non-rigid 3D models was proposed. The largest connected component was obtained. The HKS descriptors of the largest connected component were calculated and those descriptors of the boundary vertices and their 1-ring neighbors were excluded. For shape classifications, the dictionary was learned for each class based on the sparse representation theory. For a test model, each dictionary was utilized to sparsely represent its descriptor set, and the most appropriate dictionary was determined by the representation error, …

3d Reconstruction Of Weak Texture Image Based On Tensor Voting And Dense Map Method, Mingwei Chen, Yang Yang

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: Image based 3D reconstruction method can't effectively detect and match feature points and can't robustly expand 3D point cloud in weak texture image region, due to the fact that weak texture has single color and local reflection phenomenon. It is possible to produce model hole and a large number of 3D noise points, and affect the accuracy and integrity of 3D reconstruction. Slack variables constraint was used to filter mismatch features optimizing the camera matrix, in the dense point cloud expansion stage by using tensor voting principle to filter noise 3d point which is inconsistent with three-dimensional point's normal …

Snow-Albedo Feedback In Northern Alaska: How Vegetation Influences Snowmelt, Lucas C. Reckhaus

Theses and Dissertations

This paper investigates how the snow-albedo feedback mechanism of the arctic is changing in response to rising climate temperatures. Specifically, the interplay of vegetation and snowmelt, and how these two variables can be correlated. This has the potential to refine climate modelling of the spring transition season. Research was conducted at the ecoregion scale in northern Alaska from 2000 to 2020. Each ecoregion is defined by distinct topographic and ecological conditions, allowing for meaningful contrast between the patterns of spring albedo transition across surface conditions and vegetation types. The five most northerly ecoregions of Alaska are chosen as they encompass …

In addition to this, a mini-app that generates machine learning datasets was created. It easily allows for one to label thousands of images in a short amount of time. A thousand CZ and a thousand non-CZ images were used to train a machine learning algorithm …
