The sensor chamber plays a significant role in order to improve the performance of an electronic nose in terms of stability, repeatability, reproducibility, and sensitivity. Fluid dynamics simulations of six different configurations of 3D sensing chambers are presented to facilitate the efficient design of an electronic nose system comprising 64 sensor arrays. Numerical simulations were carried out to investigate the gas (zero air) flow behaviour inside these chambers under steady-state conditions for velocities ranging from 0.1 to 2 m/s using ANSYS software. Shortening the periods of compaction tests can be possible by analyzing the data obtained from previous laboratory tests with regression methods. The regression analysis applied to current data reduces the cost of experiments, saves time, and gives estimated outputs. In this study, the MLS-SVR, KB-SVR, and DTR algorithms were employed for the first time for the estimation of soil compaction parameters. In this paper, a compact microstrip Wilkinson power divider is designed and proposed using rectangularshaped resonator cells. The presented resonator cells are used instead of quarter-wave length branches in the traditional structure to reduce the circuit size, increase the bandwidth, and eliminate the unwanted harmonics. The designed resonator behavior is studied analytically and the locations of transmission zeros are investigated using transfer function andLCequivalentcircuitmethods. The proposed power divider(PD)operates at 2GHz frequency and suppresses the 2nd to 14th unwanted harmonics. This paper proposes a novel approach of estimating synthetic load profiles based on the electrical usage behavior using the fuzzy inference system (FIS) for demand side management (DSM). In practice, DSM is utilized to change the pattern of electrical energy consumed by end-users to modify the load profile by manipulating the price of the electricity. This study focuses on the energy consumption consumed by students who are paying electricity bills indirectly. This paper proposes a new configuration for four-switch three-phase inverters based on a step-up switchedcapacitor cell, which is called switched-capacitor four-switch three-phase inverter (SCFSTPI). This converter includes eight power switches and two DC-link capacitors. Voltage step-up feature, high efficiency, integrated structure, and bidirectional power flow are the main contribution of this new configuration. A modified space vector modulation (SVM) strategy is presented to generate appropriate pulses for the converter. In this dissertation we propose two novel image restoration schemes. The first pertains to automatic detection of damaged regions in old photographs and digital images of cracked paintings. In cases when inpainting mask generation cannot be completely automatic, our detection algorithm facilitates precise mask creation, particularly useful for images containing damage that is tedious to annotate or difficult to geometrically define. A novel attack detection method is presented for a nonlinear system with known dynamics using the measured output in the presence of additive process and measurement noise. False data injection (FDI) and replay attacks are considered using a modified fault detector. The difference between the measured and the estimated output from an adaptive observer, often known as the innovation signal, is generated and shown to have a Gaussian distribution with non-zero mean.
