A Study On The Electrodeposition Of Palladium And It's Nucleation, Fangzu Yang, Shukai Xu, Shibing Yao, Bingyi Chen, Xueqing Zheng, Xiaohui Zhong, Shaomin Zhou
Journal of Electrochemistry
The electrodeposition and nucleation of palladium are studied in the system of potassium citrate and ammonium oxalate. The results show that, with the additives of XP-4 and XP-7 prepared in our laboratory, a full bright palladium electrodeposits will be obtained in the wide ranges of the cathode current densities 0.5~3.5 A/dm2 and temperature 40~60 ℃; the qualities of the thick deposits will be effectively improved by means of pulse current plating. Cyclic voltammograms results show that the division of peaks between anodic and cathodic on the electrode process of palladium will be up to 1.05 V, which shows the …

High Active Platinum Plated Titanium Electrode, Xiufeng Xiao, Zeshan Zhu, Yanzhen Chen, Wenyun Hu
Journal of Electrochemistry
To prepare the adherent and high active platinum plated titanium electrode, ultrasonic agitation technology and the best conditions of electrodeposition were adopted. Ultrasonic agitation technology can be improved the cohesion between coatings and substrate. The activity of electrode has related to the double layer capacity of electrode, which was due to the electrode rugosity.
Surface Raman Spectra Obtained From Various Electrodeposited Transidon Metals, Jingsong Gao, Bin Ren, Qunjian Huang, Zhongqun Tian
Surface Raman Spectra Obtained From Various Electrodeposited Transidon Metals, Jingsong Gao, Bin Ren, Qunjian Huang, Zhongqun Tian
Journal of Electrochemistry
Good quality potential-dependent surface Raman spectra of pyridine were obtained for the first time from a series of transition metals, e. g., Fe, Co, Ni, Ru, Rh, Pd and Pt, which were electrodeposited on non-SERS-active substrates. The influences of the applied potential and the nature of metal on the adsorption behaviors were discussed briefly. This result illustrates that Raman spectroscopy is becoming a more general and powerful tool to study various electrochemical interfaces.

In Situ Studies Of Copper Electrodepostion On Hopg By Using Ecstm, Zhaoxiong Xie, Bingwei Mao, Xiangdong Zhuo, Jiqian Mu, Zhaowu Tian
Journal of Electrochemistry
In this paper, copper electrodepostion on HOPG had been in situ studied by using a homebuilt electrochemical scanning tunneling microscopy (ECSTM). Three dimensional nucleation and subsequent growth of copper crystals were found as the initial stage of copper deposition on HOPG. In the case of lower overpotential or lower concentration of Cu2+ , the bulk deposited copper layer tended to form smooth terraces, and grow at the edge of steps. The terraces were stable to some extent, which made it possible to be observed with atomic resolution. At a higher overpotential, the crystal size of copper were somehow smaller. …

Electrochemical Studies Of Zncl2 Urea Melts, Peng Liu, Qiqin Yang, Guankun Liu, Yexiang Tong
Journal of Electrochemistry
The electric conductivities of ZnCl2 Urea melts were determined .The influences of temperature and concentration on the conductance have been studied. The cylic voltammetry, potentiostatic electrolysis and open circuit potential time curve after electrolysis, X-ray diffraction were used to investigate the electroreduction of Zn2+, electrodeposition of zinc on some electrodes in urea metal chlorides melt. The conductivity of urea-NaCl-ZnCl2 melt can reach to over 30 ms·cm-1 (125 ℃), and has a liner relationship with temperature from 108 to 140 ℃. The electroreduction of Zn2+ to zinc is reversible at one step, and CuZn5 …

Preparation Techique Of Foamed Nickel By Electrodeposition, Xihua He, Ronghui Hu, Hanxi Yang, Zhengzhong Zuo
Journal of Electrochemistry
This paper describes the preparation technique and operation conditions for manufacturing foamed nickel by chemilcal pretreament, electrodeposition and heat treatment. The foamed nickel made in this method showed high porosity, uniformity and considerable strength and tenacity, applicable for various secondary battery electrodes.

Study Of The Action Mechanism Of A New Type Additive Sd-1 On The Electrodepositional Process Of Zinc, Huaqiang Wu, Yiqin Yan, Guangming Ni
Journal of Electrochemistry
The action mechanism of a new type additive SD-1 on the electrodepositionalprocess of zinc is reported. The results showed that the additive SD-1 is not electrochemistry activesubstane in the range of adsorption potential at rotating disk electrode surface. The action of additive SD-1 on the electrodepositional process of zinc is considerated to be fitting in with the diffusion controlmechanism.
