Pure Hap Film Prepared By Direct Electrodepositing On Metallic Surface And Its Mechanism, Hao-Bing Hu, Chang-Jian Lin, Fei Chen, Ren Hu, Ming Guo

Journal of Electrochemistry

In controlling concentration of Ca2+ and PO43- in electrodeposition solution, the HAP film on Ti alloy has been deposited directly. Using XRD and SEM we have learned that prepared HAP is intact in crystal and equal in dimension. Thermodynamic calculation indicated that the HAP is easer formation of than that TCP of. With the XRD, SEM analyses and thermodynamic calculation, the electrodeposition mechanism has been discussed. It was proved that electrodepositon is a two-stage process and formation of HAP is a direct process from solution ions to HAP crystal without precursor.

Electrochemical Techniques For Measuring Anti-Corrosion Behavior Of The Thin Corrosion Inhibitor Layer To The 907a Steel, Yong-Tao Zhao, Jian-Hua Wu, Fan-Cai Chen, Zhong-Ping Gao, Jia Wang, Chang-Jiu Zhao

Journal of Electrochemistry

The corrosion inhibiting behavior of 907A steel, which was covered with thin inhibitor layers in moist seawater atmosphere, was studied. The electrochemical measurements, including EIS method and the coulostatic method, were used to atmospheric corrosioed monitor (ACM) under thin inhibitor layers to determine its corrosion rate. The results shown that the application of electrochemical methods such as the coulostatic technique and EIS could readily detect the on going process of film formation. Hence, the rapid evaluation of the thin inhibitor layers for 907A steel might be possible.

Journal of Electrochemistry

Single-phase solid solution of LiNi0.8-xAlxCo0.2O2 (0≤ x <0.1)had been synthesized and characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Their electrochemical performance was examined by charge-discharge cycling. The LiNi0.71Al0.09Co0.2O2 compound showed a discharge capacity of 152 mAh/g after 20 cycles that corresponds to 97.4% capacity retention. The beneficial effect of co-doping with Al and Co elements was corro-borated by slow scanning cyclic voltammograms(SSCV), electrochemical impedance spectrum (EIS) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) data on charged cathodes. These results show that the 2D-character of the crystal lattice was stabilized by co-doping with Al and Co, the phase transitions that occur during deintercalation or intercalation of Li-ions were significantly suppressed, …

Diffusion Of Hydrogen At Iron Apply For Electrochemical Oscillating Permeation, Li Zhang, Ren-He Yin, Zhan-Mei Sun

Journal of Electrochemistry

The diffusion of hydrogen in iron was measured using electrochemical oscillating permeation. Through the samples in the different frequencies, it was found that diffusion of hydrogen at iron is of linear relation with boundary condition, which is the key to Fick's diffusion equation amplitude in the liquor. We can exploit this line relation getting the diffusion of hydrogen at iron.

Initial Stages Of Copper Electrodeposition On Glassy Carbon Electrode, Ling Huang, Rui Zhang, Min Gu, Fang-Zu Yang, Shu-Kai Xu, Shao-Min Zhou

Journal of Electrochemistry

Initial stages of copper electrodeposition on glassy carbon electrode from acid sulphate solutions were studied using cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry. The electrolyte solution was a 0.05 mol.L-1 copper sulphate, 1.4~1.8 mol⋅L-1 sulphuric acid containing 1 mg·L-1 2-mercaptobenzoimidazole, Results show that 2-mercaptobenzoimidazole produced an inhibition of the copper deposition, probably related to the adsorption, sulphuric acid promote copper electrodeposition. The initial deposition kinetics corresponded to a model including instantaneous nucleation and diffusion controlled growth.Addition of 2-mercaptobenzoimidazole and sulphuric acid did not change the initial nucleation of copper electrocrystallization, it increased the nucleation rate and the number density of nuclei …

The texture coefficient (TC) values were increased by thickness of Cu deposits. The thickness would be, to obtain Cu electrodeposit with (111) highly preferred orientation, about 7 times of that of (220) highly preferred orientation, which indicated that(220) face was easier to be remained than (111) face and …

Chemistry and Biochemistry Faculty Research

Structural and electronic properties of co-sputtered Ni-Mg thin films with varying Ni to Mg ratio were studied by in-situ x-ray absorption spectroscopy in the Ni L-edge and Mg K-edge regions. Co-deposition of the metals led to increased disorder and decreased coordination around Ni and Mg compared to pure metal films. Exposure of the metallic films to hydrogen resulted in formation of hydrides and increased disorder. The presence of hydrogen as a near neighbor around Mg caused a drastic reduction in the intensities of multiple scattering resonances at higher energies. The optical switching behavior and changes in the x-ray spectra varied …

The first indication of nondipole effects in the azimuthal dependence of photoelectron angular distributions emitted from fixed-in-space molecules is demonstrated in N2. Comparison of the results with angular distributions observed for randomly oriented molecules and theoretical derivations for the nondipole correction first order in photon momentum suggests that higher orders will be needed to describe distributions measured in the molecular frame.

Electrocatalytic Oxidation Of Formaldehyde On The Proline Film Modified Electrode, Yu-Rong Ma, Qiu-Xia Yang, Guo-Bao Li, Zheng-Kai Xi, Xue-Lin Wang

Journal of Electrochemistry

The proline film modified electrode and its electrochemical behavior was studied by cyclic voltammetry and spectroelectrochemistry. After incorporation of Ni(Ⅱ), the cyclic voltammograms of the proline Ni(Ⅱ) film electrode exhibited a typical redox peak, which appeared at potential of 0.52 V anodic and 0.44 V cathodic in NaOH. The formal potentials E' were linearly dependent on the pH, and the peak currents ip were linearly dependent on the square root of the scan rates, thus charge transfer in the film was controlled by diffusion. The diffusion coefficient is figured out to be 2×10-10 cm2·s-1. The …

Effect Of Precondition On Porous Silicon Formation, Xuan Cheng, Guang-Feng Luo

Journal of Electrochemistry

In this work, effect of precondition on porous silicon formation was investigated by performing electrochemical polarization measurements. The surface morphologies and optical properties of the samples were also studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Raman spectrometer. It was demonstrated that precondition enhanced the chemical/electrochemical reactions occurred at Si/solution interface and the growth of porous silicon, which ultimately resulted in a red shift in photoluminescence. However, the thickness of porous silicon decreased with the increase of precondition time. More broad bands were observed with prolonged precondition.
